One of the most unique experience you can do in Rome is to visit the ancient Christian catacombs. These early Christians cemeteries were tunnels dug underground, exploiting the old quarries of volcanic rock. Stretching out for miles like a labyrinth, they were all located outside the city walls, in order to respect roman laws. Catacombs were abandoned in the middle ages, when the population of the city decreased to a few thousands of people, and their location was rediscovered only in the XIX cent. Join me on this to to explore the catacombs with a member of the internal staff because it's very easy to get lost. Mostly of the catacombs were aligned along Rome's most famous road, the Appian way: today its cobble-stoned paving is one of the icons of Rome. Later, we'll have the opportunity to have a walk in this lovely and peaceful park, stepping on the ancient past. Our tour will take us then to admire one of the greatest roman achievements, the Aqueducts. Don't miss this special tour with me!
