Hello, my name is Alessandra and I was born and grew up in Rome - a true local! I graduated in 1995 with a degree in Art History and have worked in art communication ever since. In developing didactic projects I've collaborated with Universities, Museums and Government Agencies. Most importantly, I spent several years at the MACRO (Museo Arte Contemporanea Roma) followed by even more years at the Trajan Markets (Imperial forums Museum). I believe a walk through Rome is a walk through time, from the earliest settlement on the Palatine to the still busy artisan neighborhoods, from the Christian churches to the Jewish Ghetto. Overview of your Rome tour

Rome was built layer by layer over the centuries, We could say that it is like an enormous wonderful "Lasagna"! A clear example is at Saint Clemente's Basilica. Beginning in the 1st century A. D different buildings have been built one on top of the other. Walking down almost 45 feet in depth, I will make you travel back in time as in a time machine! We reach the Colosseum, the symbol of the empire, where games of great popular appeal, such as hunts and gladiatorial fight took place. We visit the Roman Forum, the centre of public life for over a millennium from the foundation of Rome to imperial time. Here are the ruins of the main political, religious and representative buildings. We climb the Palatine, the hill where Rome was founded, here are the massive remain of Imperial Palaces. I worked several years at the Imperial forums Museum, I will help you get your bearings and discover these wonderful places!

Main problem we all had was understanding our guide as she spoke quickly and with a strong Italian accent. She was obviously knowledgeable about the subject but wasn’t able to articulate things in a way we all were able to easily follow. She worked very hard at making sure we saw and experienced as much as possible and the rainy weather certainly made things more difficult. She showed genuine concern for our group and tried to keep us safe and together and was flexible with changes in our plans. Using an earpiece while walking on the tour may have helped given the crowds of people.

Hello to anyone looking for a wonderful tour guide, Alessandra is one of the best tours guides anyone could possibly ask for. In fact, I used her 4 years ago when I was traveling solo and again for my second trip with my 2 son's (ages 13 and 17). She is incredibly knowledgeable, polite, sweet and accommodating. She made the time for my boy's and was very in tune to what they were experiencing. She is so wonderful and authentic. If you are traveling to Rome, you would be in the best hands! We loved her.

The St Clemente Basilica may not be open to visitors due to religious masses or functions, the guide is Not responsible.

-Walking Tour -I suggest bringing a bottle of water and to wear comfortable shoes -During the summer, be sure not to forget a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses -During the winter, be sure not to forget a raincoat or small umbrella -For security reasons, all visitors are to be screened with Metal Detectors -Only small bags/backpacks are permitted (size 40x35x15). Long umbrellas are not permitted. NOTE: during the Winter from November to February the latest time to start the tour is 1:00 PM.
