Hello everyone and welcome to Palermo! My name is Mauro, I was born and raised in Palermo, and I truly love sharing the beauty, history, atmosphere, and soul of my city with travelers from all over the world. I am passionate about art, theatre, architecture, history, and everyday local life. When I visit a place, I always look for what makes it unique and meaningful — not only monuments, but also people, colors, traditions, hidden details, and atmosphere. This is exactly the approach I bring to my tours. Palermo is a city of extraordinary contrasts and cultural influences. Here, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East meet in a unique way, creating an atmosphere you will not find anywhere else. My goal is always to create experiences that are interesting, engaging, enjoyable, and personal — never just a list of dates and monuments. I want you to truly experience Palermo, not simply visit it. I have been an official licensed Tour Guide in Sicily since 2014 and an official Trip Leader since 2010. I hold a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature from the University of Palermo and a Master’s degree from the University of Udine. I lead tours in English, German, Spanish, and Italian, working with travelers, luxury hotels, and international companies from all over the world.

Enjoy a full day discovering the beauty of Palermo and Monreale! It will be a full immersion in the city with its arts, history, people and markets: you are going to discover Palermo trough my passion, knowledge and expertise! The first part of the day will be a walking tour visiting the oldest part of Palermo with its beautiful historical and UNESCO World Heritage sites. We will see as much as possible but never being in a rush. After that, we will move to one of the street markets (such as Capo or Ballarò), enjoying the atmosphere, discovering typical Sicilian products and having a lunch break there. After lunch we will move by taxi to Monreale, a small town near to Palermo, dominated by a majestic Cathedral dating back to the 12 century. There we will jump into the history of the Norman conquest of Sicily and we will admire and understand the meaning of the astonishing gold mosaic decoration of the Cathedral.
Highlights of the tour: - Going inside the Cathedral of Palermo. - Walking along the main street Corso Vittorio Emanuele. - Stop at Piazza Bologni. - Stop at the square Quattro Canti (4 Corners) and take a picture. - Stop at the square Piazza Pretoria and take a picture of the Fontana della Vergogna (Fountain of the Shame). - Stop at the square Piazza Bellini and take a picture of the facades of the churches "Martorana" and "San Cataldo". - Going inside the church "Santa Caterina", visiting also its cloister. - Walk along via Maqueda - Walk in the street market Capo and have a lunch break there. - Stop in front of the Teatro Massimo (Opera House) and take a picture from outside. - Move to Monreale - Visit the Cathedral of Monreale. - Take a panoramic picture of Palermo from Monreale. - Back to Palermo. This tour can be customized according to your preferences. I always modify it according to the situation, adding something or skipping something else, in order to give you the best possibile experience!
