Ciao, buongiorno! My name is Alessandra and I'm a true local in Como area, as I was born and grew up here. I'm a Licensed Tourist Guide and a Tour Director, and I love sharing the beauties of Lake Como and the local stories area with people interested in discovering the area. I graduated in Art History at Bologna University and studied Photography in Milan. We could take the funicular, a kind of cable car that will take us on the top of a hill to get an amazing view over Como and the sorrounding mountains, or we can enjoy a scenic cruise to Bellagio, "the pearl of Lake Como", a quaint village well-known in the world for the landscape and the athmosphere. Let's discover together Lake Como and Bellagio visiting this lively village and the gardens of Villa Melzi! Bellagio is an icon, and of course it's a pleasure to explore the alleys, looking for the different silk designs on scarves and ties and spending time with a gelato at "La Punta", the panoramic spot right in the middle of the lake. From there you can see the 3 branches of Lake Como at once and get a view over the snow-capped Alps. But what I do really love about this tour is leaving behind the buzz and entering the peaceful gardens of Villa Melzi. This experience makes it very clear why Bellagio has been chosen for centuries as the retreat for the noble and rich families. Great views, a surprising collection of plants and a magnificent elegant villa, which still today is owned by the same family which built it 2 centuries ago. In the gardens of Villa Melzi you can imagine yourself sipping a tea with the Duke Francesco or spending a hot summer day reading a book by the lake, under a centenary tree.
Your Como tour itinerary
1 - Pick up at your hotel if in the city centre/ train station/ meeting point in Piazza Cavour/ hotel on the lake if possible 2 - Departure for the 2 hour cruise: sightseeing of the most famous villages and villas (Cernobbio, Villa D'Este, Moltrasio, Villa Oleandra, Villa Pliniana, Villa del Balbianello, Comacina Island, Lenno, Villa Carlotta. . . ). Drinks and snacks usually available on board. 3 - Arrival in Bellagio, visit (around 1 hr) of the village: lakeside, Salita Serbelloni, via Garibaldi, San Giacomo church, salita Mella. Free time for lunch/shopping (about 1. 5/2 hrs) 4 - Short walk (about 15 mnts) to reach Villa Melzi entrance 5 - guided visit of Villa Melzi gardens: the Japanese garden, the Moresque kiosk, the Villa (from outside), the private chapel and the museum (about 1 hr) 6 - THANKS AND ARRIVEDERCI!
