Como Trenches, tunnels and lake view Full Day Private Hiking Tour

Overview of your Como tour: Are you ready to go back to the time of the First World War? Experience the history of the world by walking in a beautiful protected natural area, crossing trenches and tunnels built during the First World War on the border with Switzerland. Walking on a path wich divides Italy and Switzerland following the boundry stones, we will reach a view point into Switzerland. Back to Italy, entering and exiting trenches and tunnels, we will reach the highest point of the Park, the Monte Sasso, from where we will enjoy a 360 ° view of Como, the lake and the plain towards Milan. Technical data: Distance: 4,5mi / 7 Km Walking time: about 6 h Uphill height difference: about 900 ft /270 m For good walkers - Good walking shoes with non-slip sole required. Please bring enough water as there is no possibility to fill bottles in the wood, and a packed lunch.

I'll meet you in Como and, in about 20 minutes by bus, we will get to one of the park entrances. Here starts our walk into a beautiful area, the Spina Verde natural park rich in nature and history. We'll walk slowly towards the Swiss border and, like smugglers, cross it into the wood and reach a nice view point on the Swiss side. Following the boundry stones we will then go back to Italy to the trenches and tunnels built more than 100 years ago. A final effort will take us to the highest point of the park, from where we will enjoy an incredible view on Como and its lake (and also, on our sandwiches!). We will then go down on the other side of the hill and go back to Como by bus. Children always like this tour (give them a flashlight for the tunnels)!
