Ciao, buongiorno! My name is Alessandra and I'm a true local in Como area, as I was born and grew up here. I'm a Licensed Tourist Guide and a Tour Director, and I love sharing the beauties of Lake Como and the local stories area with people interested in discovering the area. I graduated in Art History at Bologna University and studied Photography in Milan. Together we could discover this city, founded by the Romans more than 2000 years ago and considered to be one of the most lovely cities in Northern Italy, or we could get on a boat to have a look at the stunning villas on the shores of Lake Como. We could take the funicular, a kind of cable car that will take us on the top of a hill to get an amazing view over Como and the sorrounding mountains, or we can enjoy a scenic cruise to Bellagio, "the pearl of Lake Como", a quaint village well-known in the world for the landscape and the athmosphere. Experience the best of Lake Como in just one day! This tour combines the visit of the charming city of Como with a 2 hour lake cruise that will take you to Bellagio, a quaint village known as "the pearl of the lake". We'll begin the day walking in Como to discover its highlights: the Cathedral, piazza Volta, San Fedele church and the ancient walls. We'll board a slow ferry and take all the time to discover Lake Como and its shores, with the green mountains falling into water and the famous villas. My favourite is midway between Como and Bellagio: its name is Balbianello and you might recognize here a Star Wars location! We'll get off in Bellagio, which I like for the views, the quaint and challenging staircase alleys and the endless choice of silk scarves in shops. I will share with you all the beauties and stories that Como has to tell! Quite often, I get the impression that travelers didn't expect this city to be so pleasant! We had a wonderful day with Alessandra, touring Lake Como and learning about Como and Bellagio. She is very sweet and knowledgeable about all the villas and landmarks around Lake Como and we had a lovely ferry ride to Bellagio. She pointed out some important things to see there and was very helpful figuring out train and ferry tickets and schedules.
Alessandra provided us a superb tour of Lake Como. She was fun, interesting, knowledgeable and flexible. She adapted our tour to the short time we had to give us the best lake experience. Alessandra was a very enjoyable tour guide. She was waiting for us at the train station, explained what to expect as far as walking distances, times etc as we were taking a ferry. She was very pleasant, informative but didn't go into so much detail that you became disinterested.

Depending on you, this tour may include the following highlights: Cathedral (inside), piazza Volta, via Vittani, piazza San Fedele, church of San Fedele (inside), shopping streets of Como, Casa del Fascio (outside), Teatro Sociale (outside), piazza Cavour. * the places listed above are ALL located in the city centre, max. 15 mnts walking one from the other. 3 - Short walk to the ferry pier. 4 - Departure for the 2hrs cruise: sightseeing of the most famous villages and villas. Drinks and snacks available on board. 5 - Arrival in Bellagio, free time for lunch and visit (1 hr) of the village: lakeside, Salita Serbelloni, via Garibaldi, San Giacomo Church, Salita Mella. 6 - Return to Como with me (2 hrs by ferry, 1 hr by hydrofoil) or stay in Bellagio and return to Como by yourself. This is mainly a walking tour. For the cruise, we'll use the Ferry system of Lake Como. Details here: http://www.navigazionelaghi.it/eng/c_flotta1.asp?ID=10 On our way to Bellagio we'll get on a slow ferry: a slow sailing is the best way to see the shores and have time to enjoy the landscape and the villas. To return to Como, you may choose to take the hydrofoil, which is considerably faster: instead of 2 hrs, only 50 minutes/ 1 hour maximum. Requires prebooking and a supplement (4.40 €)
