Ciao, buongiorno! My name is Alessandra and I'm a true local in Como area, as I was born and grew up here. I'm a Licensed Tourist Guide and a Tour Director, and I love sharing the beauties of Lake Como and the local stories area with people interested in discovering the area. I graduated in Art History at Bologna University and studied Photography in Milan. When I'm not working as a private guide, I teach Photography and, in my free time, I love traveling around the world. I have 2 kids, one is a teenager and the other a baby, so they keep me always pretty busy! I enjoy working with families and kids and I'd be more than happy to plan a tailor-made tour for you. Please contact me if you need any info or you have any doubt. Lake Como area has a lot to offer. Together we could discover this city, founded by the Romans more than 2000 years ago and considered to be one of the most lovely cities in Northern Italy, or we could get on a boat to have a look at the stunning villas on the shores of Lake Como. We could take the funicular, a kind of cable car that will take us on the top of a hill to get an amazing view over Como and the sorrounding mountains, or we can enjoy a scenic cruise to Bellagio, "the pearl of Lake Como", a quaint village well-known in the world for the landscape and the athmosphere. Looking forward to meeting you in Como! A tour to discover the highlights of the centre of Como and relax with a pleasant walk on the so called "stroll of the Romantic villas", where on one side we'll have the lake and the view and, on the other, the mansions built here since the 18th century. The lakeside promenade connecting the public gardens area with Villa Olmo is where the locals go when they need a relaxing break. I love the history of this place, created by the mayor of Como in the 50s by convincing the private owners of the villas there that everyone had the right to enjoy the natural beauty of this corner of Como. His name was Lino Gelpi and the promenade, which will take us on old boathouses, glimpses of historical gardens, swans and ducks, centuries-old trees and remarkable architectures is now named after him. Here is where, in the Renaissance, it was built the first history museum. At the end, if open, we'll enter Villa Olmo, a good example of an historical villa with a frescoed ballroom and a 92 seats opera house inside.
