My name is Maile, I was born in Massa, a lovely town in Tuscany, and from my childhood, I had the opportunity to visit and discover my beautiful region: Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Arezzo, the typical Tuscany countryside and the Forests of the Appennini. As I was completing my university's studies in Pisa I used to walk in Piazza dei Miracoli, there were so many people, coming from around the world to visit it! Now I am really honored to have the opportunity to introduce my homeland. I am a licensed tourist guide and right in Arezzo I took my license. I explored its beauty, deepened its artistic and historical works. Arezzo reserves many surprises, some of which have made a difference in human history. Do you want to know which ones? I expect you :) Out of the crowd of the main touristic routes, you can relax walking the historic center, full of medieval buildings, and then hike up to the Medici Fortress and enjoy the view of the hills surrounding the town. Arezzo it's a surprising town, guarding some important art masterpieces that had an important influence over the history of art, like the frescos of Leggenda della Vera Croce of Piero della Francesca, and Cimabue's Wood Christ. We'll discover Arezzo together and then have an authentic Tuscany lunch, with products of the valleys nearby: typical goat cheese Pecorino, homemade prosciutto, salame and pici (homemade pasta).
Arezzo is not to be missed with our marvelous tour guide Maile! This is the second time we have toured with Maile and we hope to do so again in the future. She is knowledgeable, experienced, and really nice to be with. She smoothly took care of the timing for hard to get into museums and pointed out so many wonderful details of the churches and historical sites that we would have missed without her. Wonerful tour! Wonderful guide!! Maile gave insights into Arezzo that otherwise would have been missed. Her explaination of Piero della Francesca's work in San Francesco was outstanding. She took time also to point out details of the various buildings and architecture. I plan to book another tour with her in the future. An awesome guide!!!!
