Hi Everyone, nice to meet you! I'm Cecilia, and I live in Bologna (northern Italy) with my family. I've been a licensed Tour Manager since 2016 and a certified National Art Guide since September 2026 (registration n. 99001231). I've studied accountancy and worked in corporate offices for more than 30 years, but I love traveling and meeting people of different cultures. Hence, in my fifties, I decided to change my life and do what I've always loved doing for my friends when they come to Italy to meet me: have fun together going around here! I'm very empathetic and love to establish friendly relationships with all my travelers. I always keep in mind my favorite quote from Maya Angelou: "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel. " I love to offer tourists authentic experiences in my region, trying to make the most of their time here and customizing their itineraries per request! My tours are mainly focused on food and wine because Emilia-Romagna is the land of gastronomy, and I also like cooking, eating well, and choosing the best products to prepare all my dishes! I can't wait to show you around Emilia-Romagna and Italy! Accountancy Degree and Import/Export certification; Marketing Master's Degree. Vast experience traveling around Italy, Europe, the USA, Canada, Asia, and South America. Professional Tour Manager with almost a decade of experience. - I'm an art guide too, so in case you want to stay a few days in BOLOGNA and visit the center of Florence, Milan, or other small hamlets in the area, I will be more than pleased to build for you a personalised itinerary for more than one day. - Private cars and professional car drivers are available depending on the number of people and the service required.

As a child, I used to go for a Sunday stroll in Bologna with my family. My father loves history and architecture and bought me the first book on the art of Bologna in 1982, when I was only 15! Today Bologna is very well known for its good food: mortadella, lasagne, tagliatelle, tortellini, artisanal gelato, sparkling wine, and other culinary specialties, but it's even more incredible walking through its streets and admiring its beauty while tasting all the typical foods of the area! So you will be amazed hearing a little bit of the history of its walls and discovering its 25 miles of arcades that extend throughout the city; The towers, the churches, and the streets where the first university of the Western world was born, while you taste some wonderful products! So, let me show you around the center of Bologna by visiting one of the markets of the city, tasting good local food, and meanwhile telling you the history and some curiosities about this wonderful city!
The tour will start with you getting picked up from your lodging or an agreed-upon meeting point. We will then stop to taste the traditional balsamic vinegar of Modena, the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, local charcuterie with focaccia bread, and fizzy wines in one of the oldest osteria in town. We'll then head to the main square to discover the ancient palaces, the Saint Petronio Church, porticoes, towers, and the oldest university headquarters. In between, some highlights and curiosities of the city will be given. At lunchtime, we will stop at my favorite trattoria in town to eat pasta specialties plus a good glass of local wine. Coffee and gelato in two different places after lunch! On Sunday, as the oldest University building is closed, we will head to the History of Bologna Museum instead of Archiginnasio.
