Hi everyone, my name is Cristina and I am a regularly qualified guide of the city of Ferrara and its province, later extended certification to the entire Emilia Romagna region. It will be a pleasure to show you the numerous monuments of the various cities of Emilia Romagna and to make you discover the history and the legends that every city or small village keep, you might find that even in a small town there are always new and interesting places to discover, after all Italy is known all over the world for art, tradition and culture as well as for superlative food in every country. I am waiting for all of you to discover monuments, art and culture of a wonderful province and region where you can find also nature and the typical enviroment of the Po Delta Park. The historical center of Ferrara and all its province is also recognized by Unesco as world heritage thanks to its medieval city centre and Renaissance urbanistic structure of the town and walls. Three specialized courses (organized by the Town Hall of Ferrara and held by professor of Art Academy of the University of Bologna) for tourist guides to lead groups inside art exhibitions at Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara. Course for leading religious itineraries in Ferrara and its province during the Jubilee of the year 2000. I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver or public bus or private bus or trains. I can arrange for you tours where you can fly over some cities with an helicopter with a specialized flyer.

Overview of your Bologna tour
A walk through the medieval city centre to discover the Castle, symbol of the city of Ferrara, then we will walk across the small square dedicated to Girolamo Savonarola to reach the Cathedral. Just around the corner you will find the big square that is piazza Trento Trieste with the Renaissance tower bell of the Cathedral. Then we will pass through the typical medieval narrow streets, to discover the Ghetto of the Jews and the most important road of the medieval centre i. e. Via delle Volte. At the end of the tour we will have a good prosecco in one of the most ancient Winebar of the world, Il Brindisi founded 1435 a. C.

Very nice and personable guide. She was also very caring and helped us with some of the local cultural aspects of visiting- using the trains, booking at restaurants, etc. A perfect amount of information; I didn't feel like we were overwhelmed, but it was a nice bit of context for the things we were seeing. She was obviously well versed in the local history and gave us a lot of insight we would have missed out on if we hadn't booked the tour. Her positive energy and enthusiasm was contagious.

Cristina was wonderful- she found all the train information,sent it to me and came to my hotel to take me to the train. Her English is great as is her knowledge of Ferrara. We toured the city to many interesting sites and she knew the history of all of the. She is easy to talk to. I am SO happy we met, did this tour and tasted the local food. My grandparents were from just outside of Ferrara and after talking to Cristina, I now know why my Nona called foods names by different names than other Italians.
Your Bologna tour itinerary
Meeting in Viale Cavour Gardens next to the Castle, internal (optional) visit of the Castle (duration about 1h30, reservation required at least a few days in advance). Then walk to the Cathedral, only external visit(because of restoration works), walk through the Ghetto, Via Mazzini (The Synagogue), Via Vignatagliata, to reach Via delle Volte (medieval area), return to the Cathedral. (If we don't make the internal visit of the Castle, we continue along Corso Ercole I d'Este until we reach the Palazzo dei Diamanti (external visit), and then the Certosa and Piazza Ariostea. At the end of the tour we will have a good prosecco in one of the most ancient Winebar of the world, Il Brindisi founded before 1435 a. C. Then you can have lunch or dinner in a restaurant in the city centre with a menu of typical dishes as cappellacci di zucca (stuffed pasta with pumpkin and parmesan) served with meat sauce, salama da sugo with smashed potatoes or guinea fowl with vegetables or cold meat with fried bread, tenerina cake.
