Hello everyone and welcome to this beautiful land of astonishing architecture, great food and warmth atmosphere. My name is Sacha, I am a licensed tour guide and I will be more than happy to help you discover the hidden treasures of this region. I have always been passionate about travelling, art and different languages and cultures. That's the reason why I have studied foreign languages and history of art. After my Bachelor's degree in Cultural Heritage in Venice, I moved to Bologna where I got my Master's degree in History of art. A plunge into the renowned gastronomic tradition of Bologna. In this tour you will get in touch with the history and the culture of this beautiful city through its historical food shops and inns and you will have the chance to taste some of its most renowned products and recipes. The idea is to make you feel and live the typical bolognese lifestyle walking through the narrow and lively streets of the medieval food market and tasting some of our best delicacies from local shops, mostly family-run businesses and small activities.
We came to Bologna for work, but were able to fit in this tour — and it MADE the city for us. We learned about (and tasted) so many local foods. We wandered through local markets and got a sense of how the locals buy and eat. It was a truly wonderful (and delicious) experience. And, Sasha is an absolute delight — warm and friendly. A tip: arrive HUNGRY!
Sacha was absolutely wonderful! She was full of interesting stories about Bologna, it's food history and kept the entire afternoon full of fun! Don't forget about the food....every stop we made had a backstory and added so much to our experience! We would absolutely recommend an afternoon with Sacha!!
The food tour was SO good. Sacha knew all the places to go and really did a great job of explaining the importance of food in Bologna. The places we went to eat were amazing and authentic - and filling! Our 14 & 12 year old loved the tour. Wish we could go back right now and do it again. Thanks Sacha!

Excellent tour of the city marketplace, including tastings at a coffee house, pasta making store, meat and cheeses and then gelato. Sacha was a wonderful guide and had a lot of information to share. Highly recommended.

Each bolognese day starts in front of a good coffee, and so will this tour. After a chat in front an espresso or cappuccino in a typical caffetteria, we will head to Piazza Maggiore, heart and soul of the city and one of the most beautiful squares of Italy. We will start our tastings from a pasta factory where you will have the chance to see "sfogline" (ladies in charge of making pasta) at work and taste one Bologna pride's: tagliatelle al ragù. After pasta, it's time for cold cuts: a charcuterie board with the best cured meats and cheeses of the region will make you understand why Bologna is called 'the fat'. Of course some local wine will accompany the experience. After a short walk we'll finish with an ice-cream in one of the most beautiful squares of Bologna. (in case the tour is done in the afternoon, coffee/cappuccino can be replaced by chocolate tasting)
