I'm a foodie, as well as a major art and history buff and was so excited to be in Bologna. Sacha made our introduction to Bologna and our tour experience fantastic. She met us at our hotel lobby and we stopped at all the major historical sites. We learned about St. Dominick, the indepent/stubborn streak of residents, the background of Bologna's 3 nicknames (The Red, The Fat, and The Learned), the reason why the Basilica of San Petronio remains unfinished, the subtle way to know when you are in Piazza Maggiore vs. Piazza Neptune, the partisan resistance, the University of Bologna and its historic anatomical theater and library, and so much more. Our luncheon in Il Quadrilatero, the food market area, where we ate at Tamburini, was an excellent lunch. Sacha had reservations for us - so it was easy and no wait for this very popular and historic venue. Afterwards, Sacha took us over the two towers and historic porticos and explained other sections of the city we were able to explore on our own afterwards. We were so lucky to have Sacha as our guide. We enjoyed 3 days with her and can't say enough about her knowledge, helpfulness and kind spirit. From beginning to end of our stay in the Emilia-Romagna area, we were well taken care of. We highly recommend her.
