Hi, my name is Francesco. I would like to welcome you to my warm and welcoming Emilia Romagna. I was born and raised in Ravenna but I have lived in Bologna for many years. I am a tour guide and a tour leader with a regular license and since I am a professional wine taster I have chosen to tell my territory giving great importance to the food and wine aspect. First of all I would say that I feel like a traveler. I have had travel experience on almost every continent. As a traveler, I like to blend in with the local people and learn from them the secrets of the place visited. In every place I visit then, I love to taste the local delicacies. I also give great importance to storytelling. To what and how say something, for this reason I have devoted a lot of time to writing (another interest I have) and, lucky me. . . I have published three travel books, nationwide distributed (Recently tranlsated in English and available on Amazon) So, my idea of traveling and touring is to get to know people with a local perspective, to get to know the historical and gastronomic culture and to know how to tell it. This is my idea of travel and what I try to spread to the travelers I meet! Contact me without hesitation for any information or to customize your tour! Tour Guide professional licence Tour Leader professional licence Wine taster O.N.A.V. Degree I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. There is a not-so-famous side of Bologna, far from the delicacies of food: it's the spiritual side of the city. In this itinerary we will investigate about the relationship beetween the city and the Roman Church with a specific focus on what remains of the Jewish heritage. Bologna was one of the first cities to adopt the papal bull of 1556 which ordered the confinement of Jews in special areas, later called ghettos. But less than a century earlier, many Jewish printers were opened and the University established a chair of Jewish culture and history. The Bologna University Library has also kept the scroll of the world's oldest Jewish Pentateuch for over two centuries. Let yourself be guided through the alleys of the Jewish ghetto by a licensed tour guide with in-depth knowledge of the city!
-The Church of Saint Petronius in the main square (with a short entrance), looking at the christian point of view about other religions, including the Jewish one. -The Church of Holy Mary of life and a visit of the Oratorio in the first floor, and the terracotta statues by Alfonso Lombardi - Casa Sforno close to Piazza Santo Stefano - Via de' Giudei - Palazzo Malvasia, one of the entrance of the ghetto -The Old Jewish Ghetto -Via Inferno and Casa Buratti (the old Synagogue) -Palazzo Bocchi
