You cannot leave Bologna and Modena without trying products like Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, traditional balsamic vinegar, and Parma ham, which are known worldwide! Do you know that there is a very strict regulation to prepare the famous Parmigiano? Do you know that the Traditional balsamic is called the "black gold of Modena" as it takes a minimum of 12 or 25 years to be obtained? And what about the famous Parma ham? It takes 14 months of aging before passing a quality exam! On this tour, you'll have the opportunity to visit the three local factories in only one day and maximize your time in the Emilia Romagna region by taking advantage of the guidance of an experienced professional and true foodie! The following itinerary could be customized:

-The tour will start with you getting picked up in a vehicle from your lodging or an agreed upon meeting point. -We'll then head to the hills around Modena to visit a dairy that produces Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. -On arrival, I'll give you a tour of the cheese factory with a final tasting of 3 kinds of cheeses & ricotta. -Our 2nd stop will be in a nice little factory that produces Modena ham with PDO. -After the tour of the factory with explanations of all stages of production, we will taste this wonderful "prosciutto" with some bread! -Our 3rd visit will be to a traditional balsamic vinegar producer. This production is a family affair in Modena so we'll visit a small family-run business to learn how they produce the real, traditional balsamic vinegar with a final tasting and explanation of recipes to learn how to use it properly! -After these visits, we'd have the chance to stop for lunch in a typical Trattoria in the area, at your care and cost. -At last, you'll be driven back to your lodging.
