This is Chania, my hometown. The history, the smells, the sights, the archaeology, the people; all of these elements come together for an exciting sunset walking tour focused on experiencing all five senses! The harbour where I start my tour sets the stage perfectly for what is to come. I briefly introduce Chania, its history, culture, and the hidden places worth visiting. Based on my expert guidance, the significant periods of Chania's history start making sense: Venetian rule, Egyptian rule, Roman Crusades, Ottoman Empire, and, lastly, World War II. Overlooking the White Mountains of Crete, you are also informed about Chania's outskirts and suburbs that coexisted with the town for centuries! Now, in the forays of the back streets, forget the modern world for a moment and visit Venetian fortifications, Ottoman-era houses, and many more antiquities. You will begin to taste some local delicacies and prepare to observe the sunset of Chania town from a hill overlooking the Aegean Sea!
