Fluent in English, German, and Greek, I’m a natural storyteller with a deep love for history, art, wine, and culture. With over a decade of experience in guiding, I bring a rich perspective to Bordeaux’s past and present — from Roman Roots, through the Middle Ages, the Wine Business, the French Revolution, and up to Modern Life in Bordeaux. I’ve guided curious travellers through Bordeaux, Saint-Émilion, the Médoc, Sauternes, Poitiers, Lascaux, and Arcachon. Whether you’re drawn to medieval intrigue, ancient civilisations, the intricacies of the Bordeaux wine, or you're just looking for an authentic walk through this city, I’ll tailor the experience to match your interests and your pace. Expect insider tips on the best local spots — and plenty of good stories along the way. Let’s make history come alive — together!

Our guided tour is steeped in the history of Eleanor of Aquitaine - we will discover her remarkable life, her reign in France and later in England as well as her sons who became kings themselves. Bordeaux became twice(!) royal thanks to her and the wine trade boomed through the trade between Bordeaux and London. We will also learn about the Bordeaux Claret wine, which the British aristocracy always favoured. Our tour passes by the Porte Cailhau and the Grosse Cloche, the main city bell and emblem of Bordeaux. We will also visit the famous cathedral of Bordeaux, Saint André, at the place Pey Berland, where Eleanor married the French prince Louis VII and the spot where the wine charter was signed by King John in the Middle Ages giving Bordeaux autonomy for their wine trade. I will narrate this fascinating part of English/French history and you will discover the stern Romanesque as well as the spiritual Gothic gate of this magnificent cathedral.
- Our tour would start at the Place de la Bourse, the most iconic place in Bordeaux. - Our tour passes along the river to the Porte Cailhau where Eleanor's palace used to stand in the Middle Ages - We follow along typical Bordeaux streets and reach the statuesque Grosse Cloche, the main city bell and emblem of Bordeaux. - We will then walk to the famous cathedral of Bordeaux, Saint André, at the place Pey Berland, - Our tour ends at the Gothic gates of the Cathedral. Perfect for photos! Resting spots are available if you prefer a slower pace. There are several opportunities to seek shelter in case of rain or glaring heat. This itinerary can be customized to best fit your preference.
