Hello everyone! I'm really glad that You're at my profile, my name is Pero and I'm hopefully your new tour guide and friend in Dubrovnik. I'm very passionate about my beautiful hometown and I would love to every bit of that with You. Growing up in this town I was fascinated by its history so it was only natural to get a degree in history and so I graduated from the University of Zagreb in 2018. Next step was an obvious one, being an extrovert and someone who loves to talk with different people (not only about history) becoming a tour guide was a must. So I did just that and in 2019 I started working as a full time tour guide and I managed to guide more than 2000 different tours, meeting all kinds of beautiful people. At the same time travelling is one of my greatest passions and I’ve always valued local recommendations and the unique perspective on history, culture, and traditions that make a trip truly memorable. These elements allow travelers to experience a destination in a more authentic way, which is another reason why I chose to pursue a career as a professional tour guide. My goal is to offer visitors a personal experience of Dubrovnik, allowing them to fully appreciate its rich blend of history, architecture, art, and Mediterranean. I'm generally a relaxed and laid back person so I try my best for the tours to have the same vibe to maximise fun while exploring. IMPORTANT: I may still be available even on days marked UNAVAILABLE depending on your preferred timing for the tour. Therefore, it is best to contact me and check my availability directly. As one of my hobbies I organize trivia quizzes/pub quizzes in pubs and bars of Dubrovnik. - Licensed Tourist Guide for Dubrovnik region since 2019 - MA degree in History (with special focus on the conflicts in the region) at University of Zagreb - MA degree in Archival management at University of Zagreb - DUB PUB quiz host

Discover Dubrovnik's 20th Century History: A Walking Tour Through War and Resilience Join me on a unique walking tour through Dubrovnik's Old City, where you'll explore the city’s complex 20th-century history, focusing on the devastating war from 1991-1995. Being a tour guide with a Master’s degree in History, born in Dubrovnik during the war, I’ll guide you through key events, offering historical context and personal stories of the people who lived through the siege. Through maps, photos, and first hand accounts, you’ll learn about the breakup of Yugoslavia, the brutal shelling of Dubrovnik, the daily struggles of citizens during wartime, and their resilience. This tour provides a deep, human connection to Dubrovnik’s past, offering a rare glimpse into its darkest days and the enduring spirit of its people. Join me to better understand the modern history of Dubrovnik and Croatia!
- We’ll begin at the Saint Blaise Church, the heart of Dubrovnik’s Old City. - Next, we’ll stroll down Stradun, the city’s main street, before heading to the Franciscan Monastery, Saint Saviour Church, and Onofrio's Fountain, where we’ll examine war damage firsthand. - Our next stop is a local artist’s house, burned during the war, now a poignant reminder of horrors of the war. - In front of the Orthodox Church, we’ll discuss the role of religion in the conflict. - At Gundulić Square, we’ll explore the daily life of locals during the siege. - At Dubrovnik's port, you’ll see the hills that were used as artillery positions during the shelling. - We’ll conclude with a story of a local photographer who became a symbol of resilience, and visit the memorial room for fallen Dubrovnik defenders. Join me on this unforgettable journey through Croatia’s most complex century.
