Hello my dear guests, my name is Maja and I was born in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Almost my entire professional life has been oriented on tourism industry; this would be my 20th anniversary of working in this field. After finishing the 4 - year programme of Tourism and Hospitality school in Dubrovnik, I graduated in Tourism management at the University of Dubrovnik and I own a Master degree in Business and Economy. I am also licensed local tour guide for Lokrum island for blind and visually impaired persons. Why this "job"? Do you know any other "job" where you can meet different people every day, have fun, drink good wine and be paid for all of that? Yep :), that's it ! Beside guiding, I work as body oriented psychotherapist, read good books, adore swimming in crystal clear Adriatic sea, hike. Let me show you the best of my home town Dubrovnik, its secrets and hidden streets where I spent my childhood, walked with my parents, where I learnt swimming. Yes, I can show you all of that! Also you will be able to see how we locals live, what we like and how we spend our free time. Of course, where we drink our coffee in lazy afternoons and wine in hot, summer nights. If you would like to have a private tour created especially for you, contact me to find out why Dubrovnik is such an attractive place for visitors from all around the world and why we locals are so passionate about our town. I will do my best to organize an unforgettable tour for you. I am staying at your disposal for all the questions that you might have. See you on my tour. Excellent tour. Maja met us at the Old Port of Dubrovnik at proceeded to take us on a walking tour or the Old Town of Dubrovnik providing various insights on the way. Afterwards we proceeded by van to Cilipi, Ljuta and Cavtat, all beautiful places in the Konavle region. Maja showed her enthusiasm throughout the tour and certainly helped us become familiar with this part of Croatia. Highly recommended.
Maja is a great guide and made our trip memorable. In small amount of time we saw many sites in the old town of Dubrovnik and then a trip in the countryside to a fabulous restaurant on a river with waterfalls and great local cuisine. It will probably be one of the highlights of our trip. Maja is very knowledgeable about the city’s history and local politics. She is very interesting be be with.
Maya's(Maja) warmth and disposition made our visit to Dubrovnik exceptional. She and her driver, Michael, showed concern for our comfort and enjoyment and made the visit memorable. We do not hesitate to recommend her for an informative and personalized travel experience. Susan and Marty Prince.
If you want an interesting conversation about Dubrovnik as well as an intimate walking tour, you should hire Maya. She will easily work with you to create a custom experience. She is multi talented from psychology to the arts, especially music…classical to Leonard Cohen. We spent part of our day in Dubrovnik and part in the Countryside. Do not hesitate to hire her.
Maja was a delight as she brought alive the kaleidoscope of the 7th Century walled town of Dubrovnik with its history of fierce independence, prosperity and tragedy, starting with its founding by refugees from nearby Cavtat - a charming seaside town she also showed us. And away from the tourist droves she brought us to the quiet countryside for a delicious meal at a private residence. And she even helped with a jewelry repair! You can't go wrong with Maja.
We will take a stroll along the main areas of the Town and you will get information on the most important sights: - Big Onofrio Fountain - Main street - The Franciscan monastery ( from the outside) - Open-air market - St Blaise church ( from the outside) - Cathedral ( from the outside) - Dominican monastery ( from the outside) - Synagogue ( from the outside) After the highlights of Dubrovnik, we continue our tour towards Cavtat by luxury minivan / car where you will take a stroll around the beautiful town Cavtat. There you can take a coffee break or have a beer. After visiting the amazing town Cavtat you continue a pleasant drive to Konavle where you will enjoy a beautiful nature & scenery. There you can stop for a good, healthy lunch and try our domestic, local cuisine. Upon lunch you continue driving to Dubrovnik hopefully with great impressions.
