Hi dear guests, My name is Darko and I was born and raised in Dubrovnik where I have spent most of my life. My home town, its medieval city walls and its picturesque surroundings are something that I have always found magically enchanting. That is one of the reasons why I chose to spend the last 19 years of my life working in tourism. At the beginning I worked as a professional driver/guide, and since 2014 as a licensed tourist guide. All of these have given me the possibility to do something that fulfills me, and makes me really happy: exploring my country, presenting it to our guests, meeting new people from different parts of the world. . . But most of all I enjoy having direct contact with the guests, and creating customized tours that can suite a wide range of their wishes. Pelješac is known of its unspoiled nature, unpolluted crystal clear blue sea, picturesque landscapes, biodiversity and of course its vineyards. Some of the most famous are at the steep slops of Dingač area, home of Plavac mali grape. This great Croatian wine region has a large number of wineries, and it is also well known for its mussels and oysters since the Roman times. OSTREA EDULIS oyster and pure sea salt that hasn't changed production through the centuries, considered as our national treasures are the reasons for existence of the longest preserved city wall in Europe !!! You will see it still standing above the medieval town of Ston !!! No meter is it helping my relatives working on their oysters farms or harvesting grapes, every moment spent here is pure pleasure since I was kid !!! Wines, oysters, olive oil, sea salt, natural beauties, historical heritage. . . What more is there to say ? Well, I can only invite you to experience Pelješac with all of your senses !!!
Our tour was wonderful, memorable and very personalized! Would recommended and take again! Darko was professional, knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed our time with him and hearing interesting stories of Croatia. We will book another one if his tours when we come back!
Darko is an amazing guide. He was extremely informative, kind, and flexible with the activities of the day. He was willing to answer any questions we had about Croatia's ancient history or recent history. We learned a lot from Darko. I highly recommend Darko to guide you any where in Croatia.
We would give Darko a 10 if we could. Our trip to the Peljesac Peninsula was super. Darko provided us with historical background and introduced us to the real life of Croatian winemakers and vineyard workers. We visited Ston and had oysters and purchased home made products that we would not find elsewhere. He was amenable to anyplace we wanted to stop and answered all our questions. It is one of the best tours we have had- book it for a wonderful and enlightening experience!
Darko is a fantastic host to his native Dubrovnik and surrounding areas. Whether you are taking a tour of the Old Town or the local wine region Darko creates an exceptional experience. The views along the Pelješac peninsula are simply breathtaking. If you enjoy exploring wineries and quaint country sides then you wont be disappointed. My family has taken two tours now with Darko and we plan to use him anytime we return to Dubrovnik.
I would highly recommend booking this tour with Darko. The two wineries he took us to were perfect - one was in the family's home. We were able to see how they made the wine and stored it. She provided some homemade local sweets for us to snack on while tasting the wine. The 2nd winery also gave us food to snack on. We bought wine from both places as they were all amazing! We added on a stop to see how the oysters were harvested. It was an amazing experience for any raw oyster fan!
We customized a full day tour with Darko for tastings at local wineries, especially those from the Dingac region, and a tour of oyster farm with servings fresh from the water. He is very knowledgeable of the area and its history. Anything we had a question such as an island or a landmark he knew the answer. Prior to booking and after reservation Darko was very responsive to all emails and inquiries. Had no issues finding him at the cruise port where we met up. Would not hesitate to book with him again!
Pick up at any preferred location in Dubrovnik. - Drive through Trsteno village ( known of the oldest arboretum in Europe ) and villages of Primorje area, known of it's olives and olive oil. - Panoramic stops overlooking Elaphiti islands and Slano bay from the Napoleonic road. - Brief walk around Ston, optional drink brake. - Scenic drive along Pelješac peninsula and unique Dingač vineyards. - Visit to 2 local families vineries to learn about traditional way of life and for wine tastings with liquors, olive oil, sweets, cheese // OR, OPTION 2. we can escape to pure hedonism instead, and visit family owned, certified organic vineyard with their private " escape area " for wines tasting pared with snacks, just for you :-) -Optional lunch break in the hidden, local family owned, sea food restaurant in Dingač ( operates from June 1. till Oct. 1. ), OR Ston OR Zaton bay.
