This 2-hour tour covers the history of the city from foundations to glory days of Dubrovnik Republic. You will learn about architecture, magnificent buildings and churches, social fabric and structure of the Republic, anecdotes both historical and recent, discover some well-hidden spots that are true gems to be enjoyed. You will find what does the name of the city mean, and how in little over 300 years from its foundation, it became a maritime superpower boosting 3rd largest merchant fleet in the world and much more. Tour also includes numerous Game of Thrones filming locations.
Michael was the best. His english is perfect. He walked us from the cruise port to the old city. He gave a comprehensive view of the city. We tried street food, olive oil tasting… he recommended restaurant for lunch. It was 10 out of 10.
There is no better guide than Michael! We've toured the world and Michael ranks at the very top of the list of private guides. He knows Dubrovnik inside and out and combines the best of history and stories. And, as an extra in Game of Thrones, he even tells some good filming stories which the movie enthusiasts in my group of 18 loved. Our only regret -- we wish we had more time or a second day in Croatia to spend with him! When time comes to return, we know who we are calling first!

We really enjoyed our tour of Old Town Dubrovnik with Michael! We were greeted by his friendly and welcoming smile at our accommodations. Michael grew up just steps from Old Town, as did many generations of family before him, so we enjoyed hearing how he walked to school and played inside the walls of Old Town on a daily basis. He has a vast knowledge of the city and regional history and weaves it beautifully throughout his tour. Our group of 5 would recommend Any tour offered by Michael!!!
