Hi there, my name is Ivo and I'm the one that will take care of you while spending a great time in Dubrovnik. To start off with, I've been a licensed guide for several years now and my experience says that the city itself is doing most of my job: whether it's the astonishing architecture of this unique UNESCO World Heritage site, the rich history or the many opportunities it bares. Another thing that makes my profession so easy is that I don't look at it as a job. It's more like a holiday I take with people from all over the world in the city I live. So it happens that I am the one knowing where to go and what to show. Not only as a local but as a traveller, I bring experience to the table. I've been in different countries in and outside Europe so I know what means trying to get the most out of a visit. My tours are focusing on Dubrovnik and its close surroundings. A classic are walking tours in Old Town. The city's over 1400 years history, from the founding through its golden age, over the homeland war up to today, offers many eras with fascinating stories to listen to. Dubrovnik's recent history is drawing much attention as well. Yugoslavia and the Homeland war between 1991 and 1995, still is an enigma for many people. So is the hype about the TV series, Game of Thrones". Given that I partecipated as an extra in the show, it is one of the best tours I offer. To tell you a little bit more about me, I have a master's degree in Media and Communication. My interests are widespread including history, religion, politics, culture and sports. I wrote earlier that I travelled some places, different continents, countries and cultures, always looking to fulfil one desire - to witness something great and experience something memorable. I'm sure you're looking for the same thing. Have a look at my tours and hopefully see you soon in Dubrovnik! Sincerely yours, Ivo - Official licensed tour guide for Dubrovnik-Neretva County - Member of Dubrovnik Tourist Guide Association

On this 3 hour walking tour you get the best of Dubrovnik. First you enjoy the city from a bird's eye view on our tour on the city walls, one of Europe's most beautiful defensive wall systems. Two kilometers long, up to 25 meters high this medieval monument is offering stunning views on Old Town's skyline and Adriatic's horizon. This is the perfect place to introduce you to the city. The founding, the uprise, the downfall, earthquakes and wars are only a few among other chapters of a unique and engrossing history. After the tour of the city walls we go back down to stroll the streets of Old Town. While we pass by beautiful landmarks and turn into the narrow side alleys we take a closer look at recent history and todays situation. At the end of the tour not many questions should be left open but time to give you tipps for the rest of your stay in Dubrovnik.
We meet in front of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, next to the bus station at Pile Square. After introducing ourselves we enter the city through the western gate towards the entrance of the city walls. Here you buy your tickets in case you haven't done it earlier. Then we go up the city wall. First we do the southern part towards the Adriatic Sea and then the northern part towards the Dinaric Alps. It is a 2 hour walk, moderate as there are some staircases on the way. After the city walls we continue our tour inside of Old Town. Depending on your interests we walk the main street first and then explore some side alleys past several historic landmarks. The tour ends inside Old Town, always somewhere close to the main street.
