Hi dear guests, My name is Darko and I was born and raised in Dubrovnik where I have spent most of my life. My home town, its medieval city walls and its picturesque surroundings are something that I have always found magically enchanting. That is one of the reasons why I chose to spend the last 19 years of my life working in tourism. At the beginning I worked as a professional driver/guide, and since 2014 as a licensed tourist guide. All of these have given me the possibility to do something that fulfills me, and makes me really happy: exploring my country, presenting it to our guests, meeting new people from different parts of the world. . . But most of all I enjoy having direct contact with the guests, and creating customized tours that can suite a wide range of their wishes. This experience of Dubrovnik on a special way ; by walking around one of the best preserved fortification systems in Europe, almost two kilometers in length, with its forts and towers is one of my favorites since I was kid !!! From these guardians of Dubrovnik's freedom through the centuries, you can experience the story of rise and fall of Dubrovnik republic, with the view of the city rooftops, narrow stairways, church bell towers, and Dubrovnik's main window to the world, the Old City port, from where Dubrovnik merchant fleet has been travelling to the open sea and faraway shores. . . " O lijepa, o draga, o slatka slobodo " , verses of Dubrovnik's anthem to freedom have been engraved in our lives and hearts from the beginning of Dubrovnik till today !!! Why do we, locals get goosebumps EVERY time we hear the sound of it at the opening ceremony of Dubrovnik summer festival while the Freedom or LIBERTAS flag proudly flies on top of the Orlando column ? Let me share these stories of my hometown with you !

Such a great tour. Darko and Paolo were able to provide such an interesting history of Dubrovnik, along with a guided tour up on the walls. We made many stops, learned about the buildings, architecture, inhabitants and enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the way. Back down within in the walls we were given an overview of the geography, as well as stops among the 'hidden' gems. The planning and execution of this event was flawless. Would highly recommend an adventure with Darko if visiting Dubrovnik.

Darko was an absolutely amazing tour guide! Planning with him was easy via the website messages. He was on time and held up a sign with my name at the meeting location so it was easy to find him. We did a tour of Old Town Croatia to include “walking the walls.” He had an amazing amount of historical knowledge and was very pleasant and professional. He gave us great tips for a restaurant and a wine bar for after our tour. Both were exceptional! We were so happy that he was our tour guide! We could not have been more pleased with the experience! (The restaurant was Taj Mahal, a Michelin recognized restaurant for several years running. The food was Bosnian and exceptional. The price was quite reasonable for the location, service and quality. The wine bar was M’Arden. An amazing oasis in the hustle and bustle of Old Town Dubrovnik.) We highly recommend Darko!

We had a great tour with Darko. His knowledge of both ancient and current history was broad and deep. He also modified our tour to include the Jewish quarter which was important to us. He really made Dubrovnik history come alive during our wall tour. His recommendations for restaurants and wine tastings was spot on. I can't think of a better guide for Dubrovnik.

Your Dubrovnik tour itinerary
Pick up at any preferred location in Dubrovnik. After I drop you of at the Old Town entrance and park my van our 3 hours walking tour goes as follows : - Brief introduction at one of the Old Town entrances, - Climbing upstairs to the City Walls, - Walking on top of the walls with stops at many forts and towers ( St. John, Minčeta, St. Saviour, St. Barbara, St. Catherine, Bokar. . . ). - Stop above Buža, Ploče and Pile gates. - Exploring the inner city, within the walls : - Stop in front of the City Cathedral, Rector's palace, Sponza palace, Orlando column and St. Blaise church to hear the stories behind. - Walk around Stradun street, Old City market ( opened during morning hours ) and old Jewish quarter. - End of the tour at one of the Old Town entrances, so I can take you back to agreed location, unless you decide to enjoy the Old Town on your own after the tour.
