Nobody is perfect, but Zdenko came close. .Zdenko was a fabulous tour guide. If possible he would have been rated 4++++ His enthusiasm and love of his country was obvious and helped make this tour personal and historical. He contacted us shortly before our cruise was scheduled to confirm all the information we needed to meet up with him as well as providing the local forecast. This certainly started us off on the right footing. We provided information on what we wanted to see and what we didn't care to see and he came through with a wonderful tour. We walked the old town in a leisurely but not slow pace. There were 4 of us in our late 70's to mid 80's. He also provided a good recommendation for lunch and we were not disappointed. He had parked his car in a convenient spot the night before since no taxis were allowed where we docked.

I spent some years working on cruise ships at Florida and the Caribbean and in November of 1999 I came back home. My home town is a living monument, a mixture of breath taking nature, architecture, history and art. Living out of Dubrovnik for some years made me even more appreciate my home town if I ever had any doubts in my younger days. Zdenko is an extremely nice and immensely knowledgeable tour guide. He gives a very thorough tour of beautiful Dubrovnik and its vast history. He is very warm, friendly and personable and he gives a compelling personal history as well. The tour is excellent for those interested in a deeper history and details of the city.
Zen is an amazing tour guide. Not only is he warm and friendly but he is exceptionally knowledgeable about his hometown of Dubrovnik. He tailored the tour to what we wanted to see. We started off walking the wall and then a walking tour of the old city which also included a wine tasting. Then he took us to Cavtat where we ate lunch and enjoyed the town. Along the way to Cavtat and after visiting Cavtat, he took us to the most spectacular viewpoints around Dubrovnik. It was amazing!! We love Zen.
we really enjoyed the tour by Zen. Although we are Game of Thrones fans we were looking for a tour that was more focussed on the history of the town and in particular the recent 'homeland War'. Zen's tour gave us all that. He was super knowledgeable and had real life experience of the recent history. I would thoroughly recommend.
Your Dubrovnik tour itinerary
After we meet at the agreed enterance to the Old Town, I recommend Pile Gate (west entrance) but it is possible to start with the Ploce Gate (east entrance) instead, we shall start with our tour and you will get to: -Walk in, over the drawbridge. -Stop by Map of war demage. -Walk through the entrance to the main street of the Old Town called "Stradun" by the local people or correctly "Placa". -As we walk the streets of the Old Town we'll see all significant monuments of Dubrovnik; -Dominican Monastery -Franciscan Monastery with the oldest still running pharmacy in Europe -Large Onofrio's Fountain -Small Onofrio's Fountain -Church of St. Blaise -Dubrovnik Cathedral -Rector's Palace -Sponza Palace -Orlando's Column (15st) one of the symbols of Dubrovnik's liberty At the end of the tour I will escort you to the meeting point or some other point you prefer in the Old Town.
