Hello, I’m Ivana—a Dubrovnik native, an English teacher and interpreter, and a licensed guide with a passion for early mornings in nature and quiet paths. My other interests are reading, swimming, learning languages, music and travelling. I'm a lifelong learner and traveler via Couchsurfing and Workaway. I have travelled extensively for over 20 years and have found more similarities than differences in people around the globe. My first guiding experiences were proudly introducing my couchsurfing guests to my hometown and taking them for hikes. Seeing its beauty again through my guests' eyes, I found that one can discover something new every day in their own garden! I also love exploring how people and nature connect— through the scents of rosemary, sage or lavender, chewing fresh carob or being delighted by the acrobatics of swifts and swallows. I'm a former night owl who, through fascination for nature, has discovered that a morning walk can also be a moving meditation, helping one start the day more grounded or content. I still relapse now and then, but only if there's dancing or a starry night involved. My tours reflect my belief that nature offers us space to restore and centre, and I like sharing it with others - the earlier, the better. This being a tour with a historical twist, yes there is the talking part, but silent walking breaks even it out nicely :-)

Explore the quieter southern side of the Old Town. Along the way, discover hidden corners, small squares, old aristocratic palaces, unknown churches, and traces of the dramatic 1667 earthquake that changed the city forever. Along the way we walk along the old gardens and quieter residential streets where Dubrovnik still feels intimate despite its fame. While looking toward Lokrum Island you will learn why this rocky position was both a protection and a challenge for the people of Dubrovnik. Through stories about merchants, nobles, sailors, and ordinary citizens, the tour reveals layers of Dubrovnik that many visitors never notice. Rather than focusing on major monuments, this experience is about atmosphere, hidden details, and understanding how the city actually functioned and survived for centuries on a rocky coastline.
START near the Rector’s Palace and gradually lead away from the main crowds into the maze-like streets behind the Cathedral and along the old southern edge of the city. Stop at one of the Town's most beautiful scenic spots - Buža Gate , where the city opens dramatically toward the sea. Walk through narrow, irregular stone streets, following the natural shape of the rock on which the early community once developed. The walk also includes the area around the Rupe Granary Museum, an important reminder of how carefully the Dubrovnik Republic managed food supplies and daily life within its stone walls. END near Porporela, with beautiful sea views and another perspective of Dubrovnik’s relationship with stone, walls, and the Adriatic.
