Hi or as locals say: Adio! Dobrodošli or Welcome to Dubrovnik region! My name is Goran. Born and raised in Croatia, I do live in the Dubrovnik region, and I love it! I have been working in tourism/sales-related services for nearly 20 years, as well as a guide and a tour leader. For a couple of years, I have worked for a big cruise line company in the hotel department. After I settled back here in Dubrovnik, I started to work as a trip leader, cruise manager and as a local guide on my own as well, cooperating with different tour operators and agencies. Being able to travel and being thankful for that, I was able to explore, "taste", feel and discover many different places nearby and around the world. Furthermore, I studied at the university here in Dubrovnik and obtained a degree in tourism/management back in 2004. My goal is to provide you with an experience, not just a product of the destination, in a professional, educational, interesting and always friendly and casual way. I am aware that every person, together with every experience of any kind, is always a new one and different. To all my fellow travellers, I want to allow you to experience real places and local people. There is no better way to have a great, authentic and inspirational travel experience than to see, touch, hear, taste and feel the places you are visiting. Regardless of the offered tour experiences, feel free to let me know if you would like to do something additional or different. With knowledge and experience, I could customise a daily trip or a few days of tour experience just for you! If you would like to spend some time together, please feel free to contact me. One of the nicest compliments that I recall from one of the guests is that having a tour experience with me was like being with an old friend. Thanks, Mark! A great way to learn and discover the secrets and stories of the Old Town Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik and its walls have been admired, worshipped and attacked throughout history. Many streets inside the Old Town are left unnoticed by the travellers. This is where real life and interesting tales are hidden. What is hidden below the only basketball court in the Old Town, and where is the location of one of the remaining children's playgrounds within the city walls... This is where I come in for a stroll through small streets to get a feeling for the life that is still active in spite of the decreasing number of residents in the last few decades. We will pass near the elementary school inside the Old Town, the music school which is still operating inside the former monastery. Nearby, there is a Classical gymnasium located in the former high-level educational institution founded in 17ct as part of the Jesuit order. A perfect way to discover it all with a local!
We will meet at one of the entrances to the Old Town. The main street of Dubrovnik Old Town is called Stradun, and we will definitely have a stroll along the way. You will learn and discover: - remaining monasteries - St. Blaise church - Sponza Palace - Rector's Palace - Cathedral - Old port and much more... We will take a walk to identify which traditional craft shops are still active. We will pass by a few educational institutions, such as an elementary school and a music school, that are still in operation within the city walls, and learn how they operate in Croatia. Exploring some of the hidden streets away from the crowds will provide you with a feeling for the local life remaining in the Old Town. Let me know if there is anything else to add, and I will customise the tour for you.
