Dubrovnik - Stairway to Freedom. Shore Excursion

Anja is an excellent guide, knowledgeable and easy going. Her understanding of English is very good and we were able to fully appreciate the stories behind the war and the city of Dubrovnik. The war of 1991-1995 in Dubrovnik was presented in depth allowing us to have a good understanding of the background behind the war. Highlights of the old town were plentiful and enjoyable. This tour is much more than the normal Dubrovnik tour - if you want something different, you should thoroughly enjoy.

We really enjoyed our afternoon with Anja in and around Dubrovnik. It was fascinating to hear about the Homeland conflict and its impact on Dubrovnik, which is almost indiscernible now. Anja is a mine of knowledge about the conflict and the history of Dubrovnik from the 5th century onwards and delights in showing you hidden gems you may not see with anyone else. This is a great tour if you want to dodge the Game of Thrones theme (although Anja will share that too if you ask!) Dubrovnik at its best.

My family and I had a great time on our tour with Anja. She was engaging, knowledgeable and was able to thoughtfully answer any questions we had. As a local who has lived Dubrovnik's recent history, Anja was a great choice for our tour. We were able to learn and and see so much in our time together. We are looking forward to visiting Dubrovnik again and will absolutely avail ourselves of Anja's expertise.
