Hi, my name is Mato and I am licensed tourist guide in Dubrovnik since 2014. I was born and raised in Dubrovnik some 50+ years ago. I started my career in tourism in 1988. working as a receptionist. I never left this "Pearl of Adriatic", not even in those hard times in '90. 's. On the contrary I volunteered to defend my home. Until three years ago I was also Front desk manager at 5* hotel in Dubrovnik for 9 years and I decided to leave hotel bussines and continue as a local guide with a passion for history and more than 30 years experience in tourism. No matter if we start from Pile or Ploce gate, after an introduction about Dubrovnik's timeline, we'll pass next to: - Dominican monastery -Sponza Palace ( medieval business centre ) - main, Placa street -St. Blase church ( patron saint of Dubrovnik ) -Rector's Palace ( the seat of Dubrovnik's goverment ) - Old city port, Cathedral - Franciscan monastery ( the oldest European still existing pharmacy ) - Big Onofrio's fountain -Orphanage ( public secret of Dubrovnik's nobles ) Of course, if you have any specific interests, this tour can be customized by your preferences.
