Mi name is Alfonso. I am a passionate 32 years old guide from Madrid.
I have been guiding for almost 7 years all over Spain and Portugal , giving different kinds of tours as both a local guide and tour leader.
I have studied business and tourism and I have been professional athlete.

WHY AM I GUIDING?

Since I was a kid I have always loved knowing new places. I enjoy improvising within those new cities and discovering new places along the way. I am curious about everything.
I consider myself to be enthusiastic, knowledgeable, good listener, deep and open minded person.
I am a people person. I love getting to know new people and learning from them.
I love to travel anywhere and anyway.
I have lived in Germany and I have worked and studied abroad in many different locations.

When I had a surgery on my hip I had to stop playing sports and start from scratch. I began thinking "what do I like and what do I do well?". My friends would always ask me things like: Where should we go for dinner? Would you come with me to the Prado Museum ? Alfonso, How do we get to this place or that?

I have always been interested in history, gastronomy and art : the roots of any place culture. The way we the humans interact with the environment.

When thinking about my hobbies and these facts about myself I decided that guiding could be something that could appeal to me. Luckily for me, it worked out.

Being a tour-guide is a lot being like a student. I am always studying new things, preparing new activities for the tours and learning from people I meet. I started guiding in the tricky city centre of Madrid and afterwords in other cities, museums, palaces etc.

In my tours I love to show the real deal of the places we visit, to have local experiences and if possible to interact with locals. I don't like to ignore controversial topics. To go often off the beaten truck.

I invite you to do a tour with me , I would be more than happy showing you my city. During a tour with me, we will learn from each other and our different backgrounds. I am flexible and able to customize tours.

I started doing this tour to do mi bit in showing and recovering part of the Spanish Jewish heritage that somehow has been forgotten by years of Catholic history.

In this all included experience, I do not only offer you a tour in Toledo, but also a lunch in one of the few kosher restaurants in Madrid.

The Sephardic Jews community is one of the largest Jewish communities in the world, and they have their origin in the Iberian Peninsula.

In fact, the Jewish society from those times nicknamed Toledo as the Sephardic Jerusalem due to its size and relevance within the Iberian Peninsula.

Walking in this "town" within Toledo, we will discover many interesting things such as: The Sephardic Museum and El Transito Synagogue, Saint Mary's the White Synagogue, Saint John of the Kings Monastery, Saint Tomas Church and Burial of Sir Orgaz painted by el Greco. Finally, to wrap up the experience with a tastiting we will enjoy a Kosher local wine and Kosher local Manchego cheese

Toledo Jewish Quarter half day trip from Madrid.

In this experience we will be driven around the city by a professional driver and me as your guide.

This tour is meant for those that enjoy the comfort of a nice vehicle and also would like to go beyond touristy areas and explore the most during the time they have.

Driving through Madrid can give us a greater perspective of the city's development, Urbanism, history and growth through the centuries . It will allow us to go places which in a walking tour would be impossible.

Madrid is a city with wide avenues , very different areas and a lot to see.

Thus , during this experience there will be a chance to visit those further areas of Madrid which are really worth it such as nice parks , our business area , the Bullring of Las Ventas and many more.

Panoramic Sightseeing Tour of Madrid

Madrid, vibrant at all hours, is famous for being an open city with all kinds of people from anywhere in the world. In addition to El Prado, that we will visit, Madrid has busy streets dotted with all kinds of restaurants in which we will dive in through a history and local tapas tour, which includes San Miguel Market.

Toledo, the city of three cultures"will be expecting us, scarcely 70 kilometres from Madrid. Its historic quarter, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, houses the best Cathedral of Spain and a Jewish quarter. Both included inthis experience.

As Spain is the biggest wine country in terms of the number of acres of vineyards, we will go to a winery on this second day. A historical one located in D. O. Madrid/Castilla la Mancha.

To talk of culture is to talk of Salamanca. We will walk through the streets of its historical centre, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, a walk through centuries of history, art and knowledge. We will not miss the University. the Cathedral and the Market.
