I'm Murillo P., your private tour guide in Rio De Janeiro

Guide #68434

I was born in Rio de Janeiro but moved to the Netherlands when I was three years old. After spending eight years there, I returned to Rio, where I have lived since 2000, in the heart of the city. Growing up abroad instilled in me a special connection with foreigners and tourists visiting Rio. I’ve always enjoyed showcasing the unique activities and lesser-known spots that highlight our vibrant culture. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business and have worked in various sectors, including finance, HR, and project management, until 2023. Despite my professional background, my passion has always been tourism. In 2018, I seized the opportunity to combine my love for food and tourism by creating a Bar Food Tour. This venture started as a hobby but grew into a full-time pursuit by 2023, allowing me to leave my traditional job behind. Since then, I’ve launched several projects, including a tour about Copacabana's history and private city tours with a focus on culinary experiences. My goal is to introduce visitors to the best local spots, offering a deeper understanding of our local customs and the places that make Rio de Janeiro special for its residents.

Murillo is an incredible person and an exceptional tour guide. His knowledge of Rio and Brazil as a whole is truly admirable. We spent a full day exploring the city—from lively, bustling spots to hidden gems only locals know about. He took us to picture-perfect locations so peaceful you could hear the birds, and if you’re lucky, even spot a monkey swinging through the...

We spent an eye/opening adventure in exploring the Favela with Murillo and a local guide. Together they really gave us a true understanding of life in the Favela. Murillo was again there to enhance and further explain what we were seeing and hearing. A truly excellent guide for all aspects of experiencing Rio. Thank you!!
