Hi, I'm 42 years old and I have been working as a licensed tour guide for more than 12 years, believe it or not, I still love it! This tour is about Rio's nature, starting at Tijuca rain forest, the biggest urban forest in the world our first stop will be at the Chinese view, this Belvedere has one of the best angles of Rio, inside the Tijuca rainforest we will take the road up to the Rio's famous waterfall - Taunay. Next, I will take you to the pick of Pedra Bonita mountain where you can watch the hang gliding and paragliding takeoffs - very exciting! From there we will visit a ¨private beach¨ inside the Joatinga hilltop mansions complex where you find the most expensive houses of Rio all surrounded by a jaw-dropping landscape. Next, we'll get to the unique part of this tour, where we will leave the car behind and begin a pantoon boat tour around little islands at the Marapendi wetlands where very often is possible to see our Brazilian crocs, Capybaras and exotic birds. Our way back will be along the coast of Rio, with stunning views to end our day. This whole tour will help you comprehend the diversity of our nature!
Had a really great day with Marcos. He adapted the tour to suit my interests, was very knowledgeable, interesting, professional and attentive. This was our second day with Marcos. We did the city and now on this tour we did Rio’s natural surroundings. Another amazing experience in the botanical garden, the forest, the mountains, spectacular views, the mangroves in a boat, a beautiful waterfall, and a drive along the famous beaches. His English is perfect and his personality is a joy to experience. Another fabulous day around Rio with our excellent guide.
Great time with Marco. He picked us up right at 8:30 am and took us to Tijuca Forest telling us about the city as we drove through. Not only did he tell us about the scenery but the history of Brazil and the areas we were seeing. We liked that he took us to different areas of Rio not just Tijuca Forest. We changed at the last moment on not wanting a moderate hike and he was very flexible and adapted. We were initially thinking of just touring Tijuca Forest with another guide who wasn't available and recommended Marcos. We are glad that happened because it was better seeing all the areas that Marcos took us to - Forest, boat ride seeing caiman and capybara and lots of birds, a private beach in an exclusive part of town and finishing off at a galeta lunch in Leblon. We wouldn't have thought to do any of those things so we were excited that we were with Marcos.
This tour with Marcos was an exceptional experience! He took us to the Tijuca forest, saw beautiful waterfalls, and regions of the city that the ship's tours do not visit. The pontoon ride took us around an island within the city, and made you forget where you were. We saw regrets, caymen and capybara in their habitat, and went to a local waterfront bar for lunch. What a wonderful way to spend the day with Marcos in Rio. We would definitely recommend this tour with Marcos. Thank you!
