Rio de Janeiro, meet my hometown! Full Day Private tour - 8h

We had a fun day with Lais...from the Maze at favela Tavares Bastos, Santa Theresa community with the historical tram, Sai Bento Church, historical downtown and the Seleron steps. She is very personable and knowledgeable about the area, food and culture of Brazil. We would highly recommend her as a personal guide.

Lais is an amazing tour guide, I highly recommend her! She is incredibly knowledgable about all things Brazil, and she truly loves Rio de Janiero. It was inspiring to hear her talk about her city, and we feel so fortunate that she was our guide. We loved spending the day with Lais, and we were sad when it was over. It felt like we had been hanging out with a friend the whole day. She is very accommodating and we always felt safe with her. Her car is also roomy and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the botanical gardens because Lais has a background in biology, so she knew an impressive amount about the plants and wildlife. Our tour with Lais was the highlight of our time in Rio. She is amazing, you will not regret booking a tour with her!

Fantastic tour despite the very bad weather. Lais was very knowledgeable, she gave us lots of interesting information and made sure we were able to visit everywhere that we wanted to go. The rain made it difficult to see Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf clearly but we did manage to get to both sites and we were eventually able to get our pictures. Lais was great fun and nothing was too much trouble and we thoroughly enjoyed our day with her. I would recommend booking a tour with her to anyone.

Fun, Fun, FUN! We used Lais to take us around the city, bypassing Sugarloaf mountain and Christ the Redeemer sites (that we had alternate plans for). She is an extremely upbeat person that just made the day fun. She mixed the right level of history, culture, and food for us! We learned about the impact of slavery in Brazil, the origins of Samba, the structure of the Carnaval (highly competitive judging ). She gave us a wonderful, respectful tour of the modern cathedral.. Lunch was at her favorite place in Santa Teresa - she suggested food that was wonderful. She drove us to the beaches, the steps, to see street art. Arrived early - very comfortable SUV for 2 or possibly 3 people (we are big and tall) she offers hiking and biking tours. But just a warning - I suspect that she will always have energy and an engaging smile at the end of any tour. Totally customized - GREAT TOUR!

Our family of 4 spent over a week with our local guide Lais, who was phenomenal! everything one would want, and more. she is a confident driver and wonderful guide, always calm and punctual. she has immense knowledge about Rio (since she has lived her her whole life) and genuine pride and excitement for each site she took us to. she was flexible in the daily schedule, as we had to make adjustments for weather. she is willing to go above and beyond, going to some more obscure places we had on our touring wishlist, based on personal/professional interests, including Sitio Roberto Burle Marx, Oswaldo Cruz Institute, and favela tour. all her food/snack recommendations were spot on (our kids have now sampled all the best açaí in the city!). although apparently it is not typical to spend a whole week in Rio itself, we found that even a week wasn't quite enough to see it all!

We are a family of 4 including two kids. Lais made sure we were all included in the activities. She was very welcoming. knowledgeable. and attentive. We got to know Rio in more detail. She has lived in USA and Australia so her english is perfect. My only regret was not to hire her for 2 days instead of the one day tour. We were on the tail end of our trip.
