Hi and welcome! My name is Alan, I am 44 years old, was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro. Having been to 35 countries on all the continents of the world, I have had the opportunity to be in touch with different cultures and languages - and this grew my desire to show my city, Rio de Janeiro, to tourists. I am a licensed tour guide in Rio by EMBRATUR, the Brazilian Institute of Tourism, and have been a private guide in Rio de Janeiro since 2013, having carried out hundreds of private tours of Rio, and have become more and more in love with my city and with my job as a Rio Tour Guide. I am fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and have a BA in Social Communication. When I'm not guiding, I enjoy writing, reading, spirituality, hiking and studying languages (I also speak intermediate French). ATTENTION: For cruise ship groups, a choice must be made between visiting Christ OR Sugarloaf, due to the limitations caused by the renovation work at the Christ statue. Consequently, the Dona Marta viewpoint would serve as the substitute attraction. If you have only one day to explore Rio and want an itinerary that encompasses as much as possible in 9 hours, this tour is the best choice! Always taking care to open the doors and make sure we were safe. He is very knowledgeable and gave us so much information. Our group of 4 had an amazing full day with ALAN. There was excellent communication before the date, He was very knowledgeable & very friendly. He brought us to have a lunch in a very Brazilian restaurant - delicious. He knew all the history of all the stops we went to. From start to finish he made the day excellent. ATTENTION: *Electric Escalator of Christ not operating Please be advised that the electric escalator (taken already inside the complex, right after the elevator) is not in operation due to renovation. So, the access from the elevator to the monument will only be possible via 90 steps up. If you think that's gonna be too hard for you, we recommend skipping this attraction. *Last minute request Last-minute requests run the risk of not securing tickets for Christ, and we cannot be held responsible for this. Please also be aware that, due to this renovation, visitor capacity has been reduced by 50%.

My SUV can accommodate 6 passengers: 4 adults + 2 persons up to 1.50m tall (or 5 adults in total). For more bigger groups, I rent a van with a driver (at an extra cost), so that the tour is extremely comfortable for everyone.
