To stroll round the streets of Bath is to take a step back in time. Let me take you back to the 18th Century when Bath was the fashionable place to be and you were here to see and be seen. And just who did you see? On this tour as well as admiring this beautiful city come with me to indulge in a bit of historical gossip! Find out about the great, the good, the charlatans and the downright bad who flocked to the city for the hot waters, to gamble and make a good match on the marriage market. Rauzzini is my favourite of this lot!! Bath is a UNESCO World Heritage City known for the Roman Baths built around hot springs, The Abbey and the fabulous honey coloured architecture of the 1700s that gives us so many grade 1 and 2 listed buildings. So come along me with to find out more about the city I love and live in. Tours can be personalised and if you have any particular interests such as Jane Austen, Architecture, Painters, do let me know and I can make these the focus of the tour
Walking tours usually last about 2 hours and take in the main sites. We will include the following stops with commentary and lots of chances for photos. • The Abbey Church yard to view the Abbey façade, façade of the Roman Baths and the 18th Century Pump Room • Pulteney Bridge one of the few bridges in the world to still have shops on. • A stroll through the city centre will take us for stops at the Crescent, Circus and Assembly rooms. If there are no events on at the Assembly Rooms we can call in to see where you came to party in the 1700s and where so many Costume Dramas are filmed. • From here it is short walk back to the city centre and shops. As we go round I will point out possible museums to visit This tour could be combined with a visit to Stonehenge. Duration 8 hours, prices to be discussed through the messaging system. This tour as a whole or partially, can be customized to fit your preferences - please inquire!

This is a walking tour. Bath is best seen on foot and the duration of 2 to 2.30 hours allows for a gentle stroll round the city. However Bath has been compared to Rome with its seven hills so If mobility is a problem please advise. We can use taxis to begin at the top and then wander gradually back down hill to the centre. I can also provide coach tours for large groups.
