Hi! It will be an honor for me to provide you with a comprehensive tour of my city! I am an avid traveler and my goal is to visit every single country in the world, having been to 44 so far. I can speak 5 languages, am passionate about knowing other cultures, and will always do my best to provide a 5-star service. Having lived and studied in Australia for 4 years, allowed me to improve my English and also to interact with people from all over the world. Apart from having a degree in Business Administration, I have a Tour Guide degree, and on top of the formal education, have read no less than 30 books about Uruguay, as well as documentaries, because I am passionate about my country. My passion for sharing stories and the history of my country will make this private tour unique for you. I will take you to places off the beaten track and you'll see everything from a local perspective, not a commercial one. My hobbies vary from scuba diving to aviation (I'm a private pilot too!). I love animals more than anything else and support various NGOs as much as possible. Regarding the tours, I will never be in a hurry, I dedicate every single moment to my guests and will not hesitate to go the extra mile and show you a bit more. The goal of my tours is to make tourists feel we have been friends for a long time and make them feel at home! I am also very flexible and pickup locations and starting times can be arranged without issue. Hope to see you soon! - Business Administration Analyst Degree (Ort University Uruguay) - Bachelor of Business Administration (Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia) - Tour Guide Degree (UTU - DGETP, Uruguay) None.

This tour is perfect for those travelers who don't want to miss a thing about Montevideo but also want to go off the beaten path and explore places where other typical tours do not go. You will be amazed by Montevideo's mix of architectural styles, ranging from Colonial to Italian and French. We can start our journey with a stroll in the Old Town (or do it by car, as you wish), and then we'll hop on the Electric SUV with a panoramic sunroof and explore the other parts of town, such as beaches and parks so you can be immersed in the Uruguayan lifestyle, and the very best, without leaving any carbon footprint! The tour is fully customizable, so you can tell me your likings and interests and I will be very happy to make a tailor-made itinerary for you. If not, just relax, leave it in my hands, and just enjoy my already comprehensive tour! I love sharing stories as well as learning from you, and at the end of the day, you will have made a new friend.

We used Javier’s tour services when visiting Montevideo and found them to be excellent. We visited multiple sights throughout the city and found him to be highly knowledgable and able to answer all our questions throughout the tour. He covers historical and contemporary issues and is able to accommodate clients needs throughout his tour. I would highly recommend using his services when visiting Montevideo.
Javier was a great guide for Montevideo. We were able to cover the entire city from west to east very efficiently. He knows some great spots for photos, and seeing that I was a fellow pilot, made plans to visit a fascinating little museum dedicated to the survivors of a tragic crash in the Andes in 1972. He was willing to be flexible with time, and is an easy conversationalist. You’ll have a great time if you go with Javier!
We took Javier’s tour of Montevideo while our cruise ship was docked for a day. He met us at the port and drove us to all the neighborhoods and areas of Montevideo. He drove us around in his very comfortable all electric SUV. We got out and walked around the old town and the center of town seeing all the sites. Javier is very knowledgeable about history of Uruguay and Montevideo. It was an excellent tour and Javier is a wonderful guide. I would highly recommend his tour. He is very proud of his beautiful city and loves sharing it with his guests! Thank you, Javier
Javier was an outstanding guide! He was punctual, communicated easily, and spoke perfect English. His deep knowledge of Montevideo, as well as the history and culture of Uruguay, made the experience truly special. He took us off the beaten path to discover the hidden beauty of the city. We learned so much and saw places we would have never found on our own. Highly recommend Javier to anyone visiting Montevideo!
The tour with Javier was exceptionally successful. His knowledge of history of Uruguay is very impressive and his passion to share it is strong. And his personality is pleasant and easy, making time spent relaxed and joyful. During this tour we learned and saw a lot, and as a bonus had an opportunity to discuss in depth issues about the Uruguay, which are of interest to us such as political system and economy of the country, healthcare and education. Strongly recommend this tour and this guide. Alex Kostovetsky
