Its good to have a friend here. . Once we begin with our easy going stroll, we'll start moving further inside the heart of the city. Inside what it means to be uruguayan. I'll develop on our history as we check out the highlights in the historical quarter, back and forth to our present to understand our identity. Our culture, our arts, our institutions. There's lot's to see! But you will need a friend to guide you around in order to get more than just a glimpse of our city. . I'll be delighted to help you get the most out of your stay in Uruguay.
We enjoyed our easy paced 3 hour tour with Shalako . He shares his love of his country and culture in this tour as he tells the history of the area. He always is willing to answer your questions and help with transactions with the local vendors and gives excellent recommendations for eating in the area.

Shalako took us on an excellent walking tour Montevideo. His knowledge of Montevideo was extensive, and he made the history of Montevideo quite fascinating. He was very patient with questions. He also knows the "can't miss" restaurants and sites in Montevideo, so we were glad that we booked him for our first day in the city. This a basic structure than can be changed to tailor made the tour: -We'll meet in Independencia Square if you are hosted in Montevideo, or in the port if you are cruiser. -Independence square: government offices, the main avenue 18th July, citadel gate. -Sarandí pedestrian street. -Constitution (or Matriz) Square with the town hall, the Cathedral, the fountain, and other historical buildings. -Pedestrian Old-town. -Port Market and port area -Zabala's square, monuments of Montevieo's foundation, the golden age in the beginning of 20th century, and present times. -Solís theater (opera house). Note: If you are cruiser, the tour will start in the port and will finish in the port
