This was a fabulous tour with a leader of the Jewish community in Montevideo. He has the intentional of founding a Jewish History Museum in a Synagogue and we saw a lot, including a striking Holocaust memorial on the water. Very kind person. I recommend the tour wholeheartedly.

LOVED this tour and our time with Shai and driver Jaime. Learned so much about not only the Jewish history and culture of Montevideo & Uruguay, but also about the city itself and so much that makes Uruguay special. Shai is knowledgeable, charming, thoughtful — a fantastic tour guide. He brought us into the Sefardi Synagogue that is not open to the public, and spent a lot of time with us explaining everything there and the plans to create a Jewish museum there. He clearly loves this work, loves the city, and loves his role in the Jewish community of Montevideo.
