Hi! My name is Mariana. I'm a Uruguayan woman who loves her country, its culture and would love to share it with you! If you are looking for an interesting and different tour, look no further! I'm a philosophy student, and maybe that explains why I have a big range of interests. I love music and dance, I have studied salsa, folklore, tango and candombe. As almost every Uruguayan, I play football, that's our national sport, if you don't like football, you are not Uruguayan! I have studied English all my life; I have worked as an English teacher in an institute and also in customer service of a famous American Company. I therefore have an advanced level in the language. Uruguay is a beautiful country, with a beautiful culture, a very rich history and the people are really warm, I proudly say that I'm Uruguayan. I can't imagine myself living away from Uruguay. If you let me, I can show you why I'm saying this. The amazing view of "la Rambla", the continuous move between past and present in the "Ciudad Vieja", the enormous variety of flavors and smells in our gastronomy, or the dozens of surprising stories that are hidden in every corner of our city, are just a small part of the things to discover on our tour. I would enjoy a lot being your guide, and provide you with all the knowledge and passion I have for this place in order to make this experience unforgettable. This is the right tour if you are on a tight schedule and you don't want to miss a thing. Uruguay, a small country with only three million people, the place of the mate, the asado, the candombe and the great soccer players. Montevideo, as the capital city, has half of the population living in it but represents less than the 1% of Uruguay's territory, despite this, you won't find here a turbulent metropolis. I propose you for this tour, to put together the pieces of the puzzle of the Uruguayan culture: our history to understand why this place is so different from the neighbors; the architecture as a reflect of the peolple; our food that shows our mixed heritage; a great variety of music styles that converge in a carnival of more than two months; parks, beach, the "Rambla", a city full of beautiful and natural places that help us in our quiet life style. This is a small place but there is plenty to see. As a proudly Uruguayan who loves this place, I'd love to share my country and especially mi city with you!

Mariananmet us outside the port on the street and arranged a van for 10 of us including children. She is a school teacher and delightful. She tailored the tour to us and We did some of our requests. We were happy to visit the LDS Temple! Very interesting things she taught us about history and daily life. Her driver was great. We are glad we spent our port time on this tour.
