I'm a University Gruaduate Tour Guide as well as National & Regional Tourism Technician fully Pfizer vaccinated against Covid-19. Ever since I was a child I always found myself continuously captivated by foreigners, be it by their languages or their cultures. Being part of a family of European immigrants and periodically exposed to different languages my entire life, this always proved to be second nature to me. In addition, I studied English for over a decade in one of the top schools in the country and to this day continue to use it on a daily basis. Thanks to this, I was able to obtain The University of Michigan's Certificate of Proficiency in English. As part of my Tourism education, I attended the United Nation's World Tourism Organization's First Seminar on the International Code for the Protection of Tourists and hold a Touristic Management certificate emitted by the Ministry of Commerce of China. I am proud to say I now have a decade of experience working in Tourism, during which I've had the privilege to provide services for worldwide organizations such as UNESCO, the UN Environment Programme, the Organization of American States & the Inter-Parliamentary Union. I've also provided tours to politicians such as South Carolina's Senate Minority Lead Brad Hutto and the Minister of Natural Resources of Guyana Vickram Bharrat. On a more personal note, being born and raised in Uruguay (the only place I ever lived in) I am wholeheartedly acquainted with its ins & outs, and feel genuine enthusiasm every time I get the opportunity to share these gems hiding in plain sight with others. I fully believe every person is unique and experiences this country in a different way, but my job is to guarantee this experience is remarkable for everyone. Even though there is a certain structure in the private tours I offer, these are always flexible to a degree, and able to be customized as to fulfill your unique expectations. I sincerely hope we can get to know each other and go around my beautiful country together!

For an entire century, Montevideo didn't have the scope and size it has today, spanning around 80 square miles. On the contrary, it was confined to an area that didn't even reach 4 square miles. Join me visiting the surroundings of the oldest part of the city, which goes back hundreds of years to the colonial era. From a 300 year old square, to stunning Government buildings, the main Cathedral of our country and even the remains of the rock wall that surrounded the city for an entire century, come lose track of time discovering the rich history of our capital city that will help you better understand who we are and where we came from. At one point you will be able to see the sea from 3 cardinal points even while being in the middle of the city. At the last stop of the tour, you can opt to have lunch in a top quality buffet restaurant with a panoramic view of the Montevideo. Note: heavy rains may conduct to its cancellation, for which you'll be able to opt for a vehicle tour or a full refund.
Were we to start at the port, itinerary would be in an accurate order. However the starting point may well vary to better adjust to your comfort: ·We'd start visiting The Port Market, a National Historical Monument and pioneer in Architecture dating to before the Eiffel Tower. ·We'll pass by the main headquarters of our National Bank, and find ourselves in front of St Francis Parish, once the tallest building in the city. ·We'd then reach Zabala Square, former house of the city Governor. ·Next, we'll walk along our country's largest pedestrian street, which connects the sea to our country's most important square. ·Then we'll pass by the The National Post Office, another National Historical Monument. ·Afterwards, we'll reach The Constitution Square with its beautiful marble fountain, and see the Metropolitan Cathedral in front of it (our country's main catholic temple). ·Later we'll walk by our very own "Walk of Fame" until we reach Independence Square, which guards the ashes of our National Hero.

The best choice is to start in the Port itself, as to better comply with the regular itinerary that reflects a chronological timeline of the city. However, I'd be happy to meet you elsewhere, but bare in mind that if the location you prefer is at a considerable distance from the area of the tour, the transportation to get there is not included in the tour cost.
