Hello and welcome!! I'm Michelle, born and raised here in my home town, Montevideo. It's my pleasure sharing my wonderful city with visitors, one of the things I enjoy most. I began my English studies at the age of 5 as a second language, having family living in the United States and England. I have lived for three years in Brazil so I also speak Portuguese fluently. I'm passionate about my city, its endless variety of natural landscapes and historic wonders, its spectacular white sand beaches and seaside promenade and many beautiful green areas. I will enjoy showing you around my city. I graduated from College as a National and International Tourist Guide. I have also lived for five months at Boston University, USA. practicing my English and travelling around exploring different amazing cities and learning about their history and culture. I worked as a bilingual English-Spanish Secretary at two Import/Export companies in Montevideo. I love knowing about different cultures and I enjoy meeting people from all over the world. I speak Spanish, English, Portuguese and understand some German, not as perfect as I would wish. It's my pleasure to offer you customized tours built around your interests. If there's anything I can help you with, hotel bookings, Airport and Buquebus Ferry transfers, car rentals or whatever you may need, please count on me. My aim is to offer a very personal and flexible tour and I hope fun too. Help you enjoy a memorable stay. It's my goal to pass my knowledge and passion to visitors, ensuring they have the opportunity to experience the best our country has to offer. Certificate of Proficiency in English Michigan University, USA National and International Touristic Guide Diploma granted by the Instituto Sagrada Familia de Estudios Turísticos (Montevideo, Uruguay) Bilingual Executive Secretary -Due to requirements at Montevideo Port, I will meet you outside next to the port exit door and walk to the transportation vehicle -To guarantee the excellence of the tour, an assistant accompanies me due to a minor issue in an ankle

A big, natural port with a friendly, small town feel, Montevideo is one of South Anerica's hidden gems. The historic heart of Uruguay's capital is a mixture of the 19th and 20th centuries colonial, Italian and French architecture as well as the downtown commercial district, art deco and neoclassical buildings in contrast with the shopping malls and modern high rising beach districts, such as Punta Carretas and Pocitos which bear more resemblance to Miami or Copacabana. Sports, theater, music, carnival and the arts in general are alive in this fascinating seaside city. Enjoy the coastline with its magnificent waterfront avenue called Rambla. Montevideo is your home, make it a memorable experience!
Tour includes: - Drive around the Old City: Matriz or Constitution Square, with its Spanish colonial sites, as the Cathedral and Town Hall "Cabildo", Sarandi pedestrian main Street, Citadel Gate (Montevideo was a fortress then). - New City: stop at Independence Square with its antique Solis Opera House, iconic art-deco Salvo Palace, Executive Tower and other interesting buildings - Beautiful coastline with its green Rodo park, lovely Golf Club facing the river, Pocitos and Punta Carretas residential neighborhoods and beaches - Back to port or hotel. Note on meeting location: If you are cruisers, after leaving the cruise, walk along a green path about 200 yards to the Port exit blue iron bar door. It's behind some trees next to the Tourism Ministry. I'll be next to this exit holding a sign with your name. If you don't find me, please give me a personal call.
