Hi, my name is Peter. I've lived in Boston for forty years and I love it. I am a certified tour guide and published historian. I enjoy Boston for its historic significance, its quirky traditions, its rough-and-tumble politics, its architecture, museums, sports teams and its people. Boston is the home of the bean and the cod, the Puritans, the Brahmin, the Kennedys, the Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics and seventy colleges and universities. Let me tell you the stories that will make Boston come alive for you. I enjoy presenting Boston's history from the colonial era to recent times and I try to do so in a way that not too stiff and scholarly, though as a historian I pride myself on my accuracy. If you're interested in the Boston Massacre or Tea Party, I'll show you the sites and tell you the stories. If architecture is what you like, let me show you how some of our buildings, both lovely and ugly, have shaped our neighborhoods. And if your interests take us beyond the city proper, for instance, to Cambridge or Quincy or beyond, I'll be happy to accommodate as time permits. I can also adjust any of my tours to accommodate up to twelve people. I find a driving tour is the best way to see as much of Boston as possible in a limited time, but if you'd prefer to do some walking while you're here of course we can. If you'd like to visit a museum or restaurant or do some shopping during your tour, no problem! I can certainly keep you entertained on my own but if you'd like to plan the tour with me that would be great too. Shoot me a note and I'll send along a list of possible attractions and their websites for you to look over. Some guests send a list of addresses where they have lived or visited in the past, and would like a "walk down memory lane. " No Problem! Check out my ratings, they're all five-star! Bring your cameras and your kids, and I'll see to it that you leave our city with wonderful memories and mementos and the feeling that you'll want to come back again soon! I have a Commercial Drivers License that permits me to carry passengers. I am a member of the Bostonian Society I have a BS degree in American Studies I am a published historian, certified visual artist and former theatre producer and business owner

"If you're fond of sand dunes and salt sea air", as the song goes, "you're sure to fall in love with old Cape Cod. " I offer two Cape Cod options from Boston. The first stops at Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower II on the way then continues to the lighthouse at Chatham on our way to Provincetown on the Cape's outer-most tip. You may wander the quaint streets of "P-town", visiting the restaurants and galleries of this historic fishing village and artist community. The second tour option skips Plymouth but includes a visit to the Heritage Museums and Gardens in Sandwich. There we'll view spectacular gardens, a stunning antique car collection, and restored carousel before heading to the Chatham Lighthouse and on to Provincetown. Afterwards we'll settle in for the two-and-a-half hour return ride to Boston or, if you prefer you may return to Boston by high-speed ferry without me. Enthusiastic five-star reviews of this tour guide place this among the most thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommended tours available.
Option 1: Boston to Plymouth- 60 minutes Plymouth to Chatham Lighthouse - 60 minutes Chatham Lighthouse to Provincetown - 75 minutes Provincetown to Boston (by car) - 150 minutes (Five hours 45 minutes travel time, two hours 15 minutes for sightseeing) Option 2: Boston to Heritage Gardens, Sandwich - 75 minutes Sandwich to Chatham Lighthouse - 45 minutes Chatham Lighthouse to Provincetown - 75 minutes Provincetown to Boston (by car) - 150 minutes (Five hours 45 minutes travel time, two hours 15 minutes for sightseeing) (The numbers on the right indicate travel time. Both options require 5. 75 hours of total travel, therefore 2. 25 hours of time allotted for shopping, strolling, dining, etc. The tour may be extended for an additional fee, please inquire. If you prefer you can take the high-speed ferry back across the bay to Boston. It takes about 90 minutes and includes views of the Boston skyline as you return. If you take the ferry you'll need to make you way from Long Wharf to your destination on your own.
