Hi, my name is Peter. I've lived in Boston for forty years and I love it. I am a certified tour guide and published historian. I enjoy Boston for its historic significance, its quirky traditions, its rough-and-tumble politics, its architecture, museums, sports teams and its people. Boston is the home of the bean and the cod, the Puritans, the Brahmin, the Kennedys, the Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics and seventy colleges and universities. Let me tell you the stories that will make Boston come alive for you. I enjoy presenting Boston's history from the colonial era to recent times and I try to do so in a way that not too stiff and scholarly, though as a historian I pride myself on my accuracy. If you're interested in the Boston Massacre or Tea Party, I'll show you the sites and tell you the stories. If architecture is what you like, let me show you how some of our buildings, both lovely and ugly, have shaped our neighborhoods. And if your interests take us beyond the city proper, for instance, to Cambridge or Quincy or beyond, I'll be happy to accommodate as time permits. I can also adjust any of my tours to accommodate up to twelve people. I find a driving tour is the best way to see as much of Boston as possible in a limited time, but if you'd prefer to do some walking while you're here of course we can. If you'd like to visit a museum or restaurant or do some shopping during your tour, no problem! I can certainly keep you entertained on my own but if you'd like to plan the tour with me that would be great too. Shoot me a note and I'll send along a list of possible attractions and their websites for you to look over. Some guests send a list of addresses where they have lived or visited in the past, and would like a "walk down memory lane. " No Problem! Check out my ratings, they're all five-star! Bring your cameras and your kids, and I'll see to it that you leave our city with wonderful memories and mementos and the feeling that you'll want to come back again soon! I have a Commercial Drivers License that permits me to carry passengers. I am a member of the Bostonian Society I have a BS degree in American Studies I am a published historian, certified visual artist and former theatre producer and business owner

Immerse yourself in our colonial history! On this six-hour driving tour you will see the sights and hear the stories of Boston's colonial past narrated by an historian and experienced guide. After visiting Boston's Freedom Trail sites including the Bunker Hill Museum, we'll retrace Paul Revere's ride to Lexington. Then it's on to the North Bridge in Concord, the site of the "shot heard 'round the world. " You'll see the sights and hear the stories of the Boston Massacre, the Tea Party, the Battle of Bunker Hill and see Paul Revere's house, the Old North Church and Old Ironsides. In Concord we'll see the homes of Emerson, Alcott, and Thoreau's Walden Pond. (This six-hour tour will accommodate a meal break). This is an excellent tour for seasoned historians and students alike. Enthusiastic five-star reviews of this tour and tour guide place this among the most thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommended tours available.
Peter and the tour was amazing! Highly recommend
Peter provided us with a wonderful day of his knowledge of American History. In fact, we took prodigious notes since his knowledge was greater than what we had already learned through our past history lessons! We would highly recommend his extended Boston tour.
Peter was fabulous! I cannot recommend him more highly. He is incredibly knowledgeable about a variety of subjects. My favorite statement from Peter that he repeated often was “every building has a story.” We learned so much in six hours and had the best time ever with a tour by locals. The trip is pricey, but so well worth it. I am a sociologist and my husband was a financial executive. Peter was surprised that I knew who Margaret Fuller was; and I was equally impressed that he did. The trip is more than revolutionary history; it also covers the transcendentalists and general Boston history. I will also add that Peter is a true gentleman and a good driver.
Peter was a great tour guide. He knew his history. We could tell he loved telling us about Boston and the surrounding areas
There were three couples on a pre-cruise tour. We started in the rain, but that didn't phase Peter. Excellent tour of Boston before we headed to Lexington and Concord. We came back through Cambridge seeing Harvard and MIT. Peter has a wealth of knowledge with a delivery that kept everyone engaged throughout the six hour tour. We would highly recommend Peter for your future tour.
Fantastic. I took the tour with my 10 year old daughter who learned about the revolutionary war in school this year. Peter crafted the tour to see many of the things she learned and did it in such a way to keep her interest and mine. He is very knowledgeable. He was great and I would do it again and recommend Peter to anyone thinking about a tour.
