Guide #4352
Hi, my name is Peter. I've lived in Boston for forty years and I love it. I am a certified tour guide and published historian. I enjoy Boston for its historic significance, its quirky traditions, its rough-and-tumble politics, its architecture, museums, sports teams and its people. Boston is the home of the bean and the cod, the Puritans, the Brahmin, the Kennedys, the Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics and seventy colleges and universities. Let me tell you the stories that will make Boston come alive for you. I enjoy presenting Boston's history from the colonial era to recent times and I try to do so in a way that not too stiff and scholarly, though as a historian I pride myself on my accuracy. If you're interested in the Boston Massacre or Tea Party, I'll show you the sites and tell you the stories. If architecture is what you like, let me show you how some of our buildings, both lovely and ugly, have shaped our neighborhoods. And if your interests take us beyond the city proper, for instance, to Cambridge or Quincy or beyond, I'll be happy to accommodate as time permits. I can also adjust any of my tours to accommodate up to twelve people. I find a driving tour is the best way to see as much of Boston as possible in a limited time, but if you'd prefer to do some walking while you're here of course we can. If you'd like to visit a museum or restaurant or do some shopping during your tour, no problem! I can certainly keep you entertained on my own but if you'd like to plan the tour with me that would be great too. Shoot me a note and I'll send along a list of possible attractions and their websites for you to look over. Some guests send a list of addresses where they have lived or visited in the past, and would like a "walk down memory lane. " No Problem! Check out my ratings, they're all five-star! Bring your cameras and your kids, and I'll see to it that you leave our city with wonderful memories and mementos and the feeling that you'll want to come back again soon! I have a Commercial Drivers License that permits me to carry passengers. I am a member of the Bostonian Society I have a BS degree in American Studies I am a published historian, certified visual artist and former theatre producer and business owner

We were a group of six visiting Boston for the first time. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Peter was a very personable, knowledgeable and an incredibly engaging guide. After our tour, there were several times during our remaining days that someone in our group would bring up something we had learned or seen on our tour with Peter and say how impressed they...

July 2026Thank YOU Liz for your kind and thoughtful review. I enjoyed meeting you all, but then, I always enjoy meeting Canadians! (And it looks like you brought the Blue Jays a bit of luck from the North). Cheers, Peter
Peter was the ultimate tour guide on our 3 hour tour of Boston. He was super informative, a fountain of knowledge and an excellent communicator - also a very good driver! We learned so much about Boston from history to sports to the nuances of all of the areas of the city. Could not recommend Peter more!

July 2026Thanks Beth, for taking the time to write a nice review. I hope you enjoyed your time here.
Peter B was one of our best guides ever. We learned so much through his ability to spin a story full of information and humor in such a way as to not feel as though we were in a college lecture, although the information was worthy of being presented that way. We were very comfortable in his mini-van. Peter took good care of us in the heat making sure we had comfortable...

July 2026Thank you, Deborah, for the kind words. I hope you both enjoyed your cruise. I appreciate you taking my tour!
We really enjoyed our tour. Our guide knew so much about the history of Boston and has even been consulted on movies about the American Revolution. I had never been to Concord or Lexington and going there made all the stories I had learned make more sense.
