Hello! I'm Curtis. I enjoy travel and outdoor activities- bicycling and sailing (if time allows it). My hobby is, first and foremost, taking care of my family and home. I enjoy reading and have always had an interest in history and the early years of the New England colonies and the United States. I am a licensed Tour Guide in Concord, Massachusetts. I have a BA in Classical Studies and English Literature. I'm interested in the settlement of Massachusetts, Native American History, the colonization of America and the War of Independence. Boston features prominently in these periods of American History. I've started several small businesses since moving to Boston. I began as a part-time tour guide in Salem, MA. I was employed by an embassy in Washington, D. C. for 4 years as a logistics person, transportation fleet manager, and driver. My experience includes working as an editor with an Epigraphy Journal: Epigraphic Society Occasional Publications. The most memorable day as a tour guide in Salem involved stopping a spooked horse (Buck) while driving a horse-drawn carriage behind St. Peters Church on Brown Street. I conduct tours in Boston, Lexington, Concord, Plymouth and Salem. Tours of the Freedom Trail, Greater Boston and Cambridge, as well as all-day Newport, RI tours. I can provide special itineraries including a Coastal By-Ways Tour: -Gloucester/ Rockport, passing through Newburyport as far as Ogunquit, Maine. We can alter this for your interests! Tours of the Pioneer Valley and the Mohawk Trail, and Autumn Foliage Tours. These are private car trips in Cadillac sedan, SUV, or the Mercedes Metris 7-passenger wagon. We provide Walking Tours of Beacon Hill and the Freedom Trail in Boston. The most enjoyable tours are when clients have a personal experience of Boston. I shape itineraries according to your interests. ·BA in Classical Studies and English Literature. ·4 years experience working for an Embassy as transportation fleet manager and driver. Business owner in Massachusetts · Have conducted tours in Boston, Lexington, Concord, Plymouth, Salem, Newport, RI and Foliage Tours in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. I am only permitted to guide in the English language.
