Having done contract work around the world for 10 years, I can confidently say that Boston is my favorite place to be. I love talking about my travels but it's Boston that has my heart and I call it home. I have many interests and hobbies - I play ukulele (mostly for the singalong aspect); I love hiking (clocked in at over 3000 miles thus far); I am constantly on the lookout for good Sci-fi reads (but also like a compelling science-based non-fiction); I adore my bike (mostly just a bicycle commuter - having ventured into bike-packing yet) but one of my favorite things to do is to introduce people to new things and experiences - as a tour guide, I get to do this every day. Through Boston history, food and culture - I watch people grow in their understanding and love of a place. Working with people through ToursByLocals gives me an opportunity to custom fit people's interests into a stellar day in my favorite city. Certified Guide - International Tour Management Institute UMass Amherst Bachelors of Anthropology Road Scholar Group Leader Trained Facilitator I am not a licensed guide for some places and will not be able to guide you inside of the historical monuments/buildings.

Don't miss out on the classic Boston Freedom Trail walking tour - We'll walk through all the sites on this side of the harbor - from the Boston Common to Old North Church. You'll hear the story of the Revolution told in a clear and engaging way. On this tour, historical Boston is surrounded by modern Boston. Get a little view into what life in Boston looks like and how the modern Bostonian and the historical one still frequent many of the same buildings (one has been a tea/coffee shop since the 1870s!) You'll leave this tour knowing how all the things fit together - The Tea Party, Paul Revere's Ride, the Boston Massacre, and more! By the end of our tour, you'll not only feel equipped to retell the history, but I will help you understand the wandering streets of Boston so you can comfortably continue your exploration on your own!

This was an excellent tour and Shannon was very knowledgeable. She was also fun and helpful with other activity suggestions.
Shannon was absolutely fantastic! Very knowledgeable and friendly! She is intuitive and accommodating as she took breaks when needed to sit or use the restrooms. She has a vibrant and friendly personality. She will answer all questions and give any extra information you made need! Shannon’s passion for history and her love of Boston is apparent and we could not have been happier to have met her! Many of our memories of navigating and understanding the area is from her tour! Highly Recommend!

We will meet at the beginning of the trail at the Boston Common (but meeting point can be flexible). From there, we will begin our walk through the Historic sites of Boston. Things you will see: State House, Old South Meeting House Church, Old State House, Boston City Hall, Old North Church 54th Regiment Monument Park Street Church Kings Chapel Omni Parker House Hotel Things we will visit - Granary Burying Ground Fauniel Hall Quincy Market, the North End Boston Massacre Site Paul Revere's Grave John Hancock's Grave As we walk through Boston, we will tie the history together and see the path the early patriots took (both literally and figuratively) to create our nation.
