Hi my name is Andrew and I am a qualified London guide. My walking tours aim to do two things: give you a deeper understanding of this historic City while also being highly entertaining! I aim to offer more than the "standard" tour of highlights: I appeal to the kind of traveller who wants to understand a bit more about the places they visit (while having a laugh along the way). In addition to my two guiding qualifications (City of London and Camden Guide) I have a first in Classics and History from Oxford University: I was a Management Consultant at McKinsey and Co: and I used to work as a stand-up comedian. This gives me a unique blend of skills: I combine a love of genuine knowledge and insight with the ability to communicate this in a highly entertaining way. My tours focus on history, culture, buildings and sites. I cover all aspects of London's 2, 000 year history, from the Romans who founded it up to the present day when finance, commerce and entertainment dominate. I have been guiding for some years and have 100% "top box/outstanding" reviews from every platform. I am happy to create something specific for you if the specific tours I offer do not suit you: just get in touch! City of London Guide (2020) (Green Badge) Camden Guiding Association (2023) I do not have any restrictions in regard to my guiding, I can offer a full range of experiences

Many visitors and many tours in London just cover the standard "tourist sights": changing of the guard, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square etc. You may already have seen these. But Westminster holds countless stories about kings and queens: scandals, executions, fires, civil wars... This walking tour tells many of these stories, painting a picture of how the British monarchy has survived for over 1,000 years, much of it lived out in the streets of Westminster. It is aimed at curious travellers who want to get below the surface of the standard sights...
The tour starts outside Westminster Abbey, then takes in Westminster Hall and Big Ben. We then see Victoria Tower Gardens and the Medieval Jewel Tower before heading through the ancient Dean's Yard to find St James' Park and Horseguards Parade. We walk up Whitehall to Trafalgar Square then walk down the Mall. Turning into Pall Mall we see St James' Palace and Green Park before ending our walk at Buckingham Palace. NB this is an outdoor walk, we do not go inside any buildings.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
