Hi my name is Andrew and I am a qualified London guide. My walking tours aim to do two things: give you a deeper understanding of this historic City while also being highly entertaining! I aim to offer more than the "standard" tour of highlights: I appeal to the kind of traveller who wants to understand a bit more about the places they visit (while having a laugh along the way). In addition to my two guiding qualifications (City of London and Camden Guide) I have a first in Classics and History from Oxford University: I was a Management Consultant at McKinsey and Co: and I used to work as a stand-up comedian. This gives me a unique blend of skills: I combine a love of genuine knowledge and insight with the ability to communicate this in a highly entertaining way. My tours focus on history, culture, buildings and sites. I cover all aspects of London's 2, 000 year history, from the Romans who founded it up to the present day when finance, commerce and entertainment dominate. I have been guiding for some years and have 100% "top box/outstanding" reviews from every platform. I am happy to create something specific for you if the specific tours I offer do not suit you: just get in touch! City of London Guide (2020) (Green Badge) Camden Guiding Association (2023) I do not have any restrictions in regard to my guiding, I can offer a full range of experiences

London has lots of history packed into small spaces: so you can find elegant squares right next to the site of squalid Dickensian slums, posh shopping terraces alongside warehouses and factories. St Giles' is just such an area. You may have wandered around it (its near Covent Garden and Tottenham Court Rd). But it takes a guided walk to be able to unpeel all the layers of history and understand how it has evolved. For example, a walk down Denmark St would give you no clue that this was where Elton John used to work as a tea boy and the Rolling Stones recorded their first album. I hold a Guiding qualification from the Borough of Camden which covers this area, so can tell you all the history: I also worked as a stand-up comedian, so I can do all this in an entertaining way! So come and enjoy a wander around musical streets, the beautiful Seven Dials, the notorious slum area of the Rookery: and the absolutely stunning Bedford Square
During this tour, We will see some of the most beautiful places, such as: - Start at Tottenham Court Rd, next to Centrepoint (London's first skyscraper) - Explore the delightful streets and courts of Seven Dials - Join Drury Lane opposite the site of the first Sainsbury's supermarket - Explore the site of the notorious Rookery slums and understand its sad but fascinating history - Finish in the beautiful, unspoiled Bedford Square, London's most perfect Georgian space The itinerary is flexible, for any changes please let me know.
