Hello, I'm Jenny and I would love to share with you my knowledge and passion for the City of London. Built on the footprint of the Old Roman wall, there has been a City here for 2000 years! It is called the Square Mile because of this footprint and it is packed with history, amazing buildings both old and new and many quirky facts. Let me show you the well known parts and the less well known - and some of the hidden and secret pockets of the City that you would never know were there. As a professional actor, I love telling a story and communicating the City's rich history to people in the most interesting and fun way. I won't bombard you with dates but I will tell you the stories of the people behind the amazing places we will visit - I will tell you the stories of ordinary Londoners who lost their lives whilst saving the life of someone else- often a complete stranger. Let me introduce you to the men who made sure that Shakespeare's work was saved for all to enjoy - it is 400 years since Shakespeare's first Folio was published. Let me tell you about three times elected Lord Mayor whose legacy is still doing good and helping people 600 years on from his death in 1423. The City is a world class financial district and I will tell you how this came to be and I will take you to the place where the first cup of coffee was sold in the City of London and These coffee shops lay the foundations for the Financial Services of the City of London and were hugely influential in shaping the City into the World class Financial centre that it is today. There are so many wonderful buildings and people whose lives have shaped the City of London and I would love to walk you around the City and introduce you to some of these amazing places. My interests are people, acting, communicating, music and literature. I also love devising bespoke tours for people - so if you have a particular interest in the City then contact me and I will devise a walk around your particular interests! I am looking forward to meeting you. Qualified Green Badge guide for the City of London Associate Member of the Institute of Tourist guiding Member of the City of London Guide Lecturers association Professional actress. I do not have a licence to guide inside the Tower of London or the Tower of London.

Overview of your London tour

Did you know that the City of London is 2000 years old? Founded by the Romans in 43AD it is now the world's top financial centre. The 'Square Mile' (its actually 1. 12 miles!) is tiny but is packed with history and as your guide I will lead you around twisting lanes and alleys and uncover all the City's hidden (and some not so hidden) secrets! I am passionate about history of the City of London and on this Tour I will take you to a ghostly Monastery which is the burial site of 3 Queens, and a woman who murdered her 2 husbands. It is said they occasionally walk the grounds at night. . We'll visit a church that dates back to 670AD, a large piece of the Roman Wall, a park with a moving memorial to heroic human sacrifice and I'll tell stories of some of these heroic deeds, Smithfield Market- a place for jousting, a horse market, executions and 'Wife selling'- it sits next to the oldest working hospital of St Barts which is 900 years old, Guildhall Yard, & 2 houses that survived the Great Fire in 1666.

Your London tour itinerary

I will meet you at Tower Hill tube station which will give you a great view of the Tower of London. Our route will include: * A large piece of the Roman Wall * The oldest Market place in London- and site of Diagonal Alley in the first Harry Potter film * A ghostly Monastery * Secret parks - one with a moving memorial and another which will give you up to three views of St Paul's Cathedral. * Guildhall Yard * The first Coffee House * The Royal Exchange * End: Near St Paul's Cathedral. There will be time for a drink if needed, and plenty of time for photos. Please dress according to the weather forecast that day. The route is mostly flat but there are a few steps here and there. We will go at your own pace, mainly on streets, a few cobbles- please wear comfortable shoes! Please note this tour can be customised. Use the 'message guide' button to contact me for a customised tour.
