I would like to welcome you to London, my home and the city I love. As well as being an experienced Blue Badge Tour Guide (the ultimate qualification in guiding) I am also a City of London Guide, the City of Westminster Guide and Tate Gallery Guide, so wherever we go you'll be in good hands. Only Blue Badge guides are permitted to guide in certain locations, such as Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London. My aim is to provide you with enthusiastic informative private tours which ensure that your London experience will be the best. I was born in the North of England but spent part of my childhood living in India and the Middle East. I moved to London for a year to study on a postgraduate course and never left - working, bringing up my children and developing my career in guiding here. Apart from a few years living in Japan and Singapore London has been my home for 30 years. I believe there is something for everyone here, 2000 years of history rubbing shoulders in a contemporary city with modern architecture, fashion and art. Whatever you are interested in, whether it is castles, palaces, traditions, galleries, museums or modern culture I can tailor a tour for you. My bespoke tours include walking tours, tours by public transport ( bus, tube, boat or train), or I can organize a car with a driver or a minibus. Within London we can cover the major sites--Westminster Abbey, Royal London, Buckingham Palace, Changing of the Guard, Churchill War Rooms, St Paul's Cathedral, Tower of London or explore less well-known districts like Bermondsey, Shoreditch or Spitalfields. Out of London Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Salisbury, Bath, Dover, Leeds Castle, Hever Castle are a few of the many wonderful places that can be easily reached in a day trip. I hope to see you soon. . . . Liz Public liability insurance Blue Badge London Tour Guide - this is the highest qualification tour guides can achieve. I guide in several museums and galleries in London and I love them all, but IF I had to chose my favourite it would have to be the Victoria and Albert museum. The stunning classical architecture of the museum is almost an exhibit of its own. This museum is pretty eclectic with exhibits ranging from sculpture to paintings, ceramics to carpets, furniture to fashion and the most amazing jewellery gallery (where else could you find a coronet designed for Queen Victoria by her husband Prince Albert, Beyonce's butterfly ring and Freddie Mercury's collection of art deco vanity boxes all under one roof?) I like to take overseas visitors (and local visitors) through the British Galleries as it gives a really accessible overview of our history since the 1500s. And my top tip is that it is much less crowded than the British Museum!
Highlights tour of the Victoria & Albert museum, duration 2 and half hours. This museum has the most wonderfully decorated cafe. If you need a refreshment break during or after your tour we can pause there. I can customise this tour to suit you and if there is anything you specially wish to see there just let me know.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
