Hello and welcome to the South East of England and London, as a guide in this area I have two professional qualifications (known as the Blue Badge) awarded by the Institute of Tourist Guides. I’m based in the beautiful medieval city of Canterbury where I'm also a fully qualified Canterbury Cathedral guide and Canterbury City guide. I would be delighted to develop a private, bespoke tour just for you and your party which can be geared to your particular interests. It could also include an exploration of the surrounding country areas and, perhaps taking in local heritage sites such as the White Cliffs of Dover, its stunning castles, such as Leeds, Dover or Walmer Castles or to beautiful gardens including Sissinghurst or Great Dixter. As a London guide I enjoy bringing to life the stories of this fascinating city. It is a huge treasure trove waiting for you to explore. It could be the fabulous wealth of royal London history, its major sites, art and architecture or some of its quirky streets. Included in my tours are the characters associated with its past:, famous, infamous as well as the everyday folk who have contributed to its multi-layered history. Since I have lived in the South East of England for much of my life, I know its nooks and crannies well; the villages, country roads, good places to stop off for refreshments such as country inns or tea rooms. This area can be enjoyed in so many different ways, walking tours, taxi tours. I can meet you at a train station, Dover Cruise Terminal, your hotel. The choice and the opportunities to enjoy it are many and varied. Combining the best of the South East with our great metropolis of London, I am qualified to guide you around the major sites, such as Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London and the National Gallery. I am fascinated with our capital's history, both in its buildings as well as the many characters from all walks of life who have contributed to its development. Rather like its great river, Old Father Thames, London never stops moving and evolving making it always an exciting place to visit. Blue Badge Guide - South East England Blue Badge Guide - London Green Badge Guide - Canterbury Canterbury Cathedral Guide Member - Institute of Tourist Guides, Guild of Guides, South East England Tourist Guides Association (and previous Chairperson). B.A. (Hons.) English Literature, B.A. (Hons) Fine Art. Post Graduate Certificate in Education. I am not a driver guide but I can arrange transportation upon request.

This is a day to dream and soak up the beauty of The Garden of England. It combines magnificent Leeds Castle with Sissinghurst, a garden of delight. At Leeds Castle stories of royal Queens are interlaced with the history of its development. Over the years, it's been the place of meetings, of the aristocracy, the rich and powerful. We'll stroll through the gardens which create a stunning setting for the castle itself. Then into the labyrinth of rooms, some reflecting medieval times and more recently the suite of private rooms of the last owner, American heiress Lady Olive Baillie. Back on our travels through the Kentish countryside stopping for a spot of lunch at a traditional country inn (if you would like). Then we're off again heading through delightful countryside before arriving at Sissinghurst. There, we'll explore the intricate series of garden rooms, each with its own distinguishing colours and theme which formed the life's work of its creators Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicholson
From Dover- to Leeds Castle- it is about a 20 minute stroll through the grounds to the Castle, but if you'd rather not do this, or if it's raining, there is normally a small train which you can take. • Explore the Castle and spend more time in the grounds if you would like. • We head off to Sissinghurst - via the charming Kentish landscape and villages. • Stop for lunch in a traditional country inn. • Explore the gardens, both the flower gardens and vegetable area, also the tower which incorporates Vita Sackville - West's study and has fabulous views over the countryside. • We journey back to Dover.
