I live on the beautiful Kent coast in the south east of England. I would be delighted to welcome you to my corner of the country and show you just how stunning the South East of England is with its gorgeous countryside, magnificent gardens, medieval towns and picturesque villages. I have always felt privileged to live in such a wonderful area that is so rich in places to visit. Since I qualified as a professional tour guide and was awarded the highly respected Blue Badge, it has given me the possibility to share my enthusiasm for the region with guests who come from all over the world. There are so many amazing sites in the counties of Kent and East Sussex that you could spend your whole vacation here. On our tour, we may find ourselves strolling along the narrow streets of a medieval town such as Rye, driving along idyllic country lanes or perhaps stopping off in a picture-postcard village such as Biddenden for a traditional cream tea or pub lunch. You will feel very safe and comfortable riding along in my very own 8-seater Mercedes_Benz V Class. This car with its excellent all-round visibility, panoramic glass roof and easy-access electric rear doors is considered to be one of the best in its class for touring. It also allows us the possibility to visit places that are inaccessible to tour buses and large groups. If you have any historical interests such as the Tudors, Charles Dickens, Winston Churchill or World War 2 history, I can also create a customised tour especially for you. If you are a keen gardener, perhaps you would like to visit one of our world-famous gardens such as Great Dixter or Sissinghurst. Wherever we go, my aim is for you to have the most enjoyable day possible while discovering something new about the history, the people and the daily life over here in England. I love sharing a good anecdote or two and will do my best to make sure your day is interesting, entertaining and memorable. Did you know that the Strait of Dover is the narrowest part of the English Channel? As you can imagine, in 1940, the Dover area, then known as "Hellfire Corner", was at the very forefront of the conflict with the Nazis. On this tour, I will tell you how British people lived and fought defending their country on this most dangerous stretch of coast between 1940 and 1945 and how Dover Castle played a crucial role in WW2. We will visit a unique Battle of Britain Museum, located on the former RAF airfield in Hawkinge. The museum has the world's largest private collection of Battle of Britain memorabilia. We will also see Folkestone, a very popular Victorian seaside resort, which played a very important role in both world wars. The Battle of Britain Memorial is a very poignant place which also offers beautiful views of the Cliffs and across the Channel. You can sit in a Spitfire cockpit when visiting its Scramble Experience. I will also take you to picturesque St Margaret's Bay, another site of wartime action.
We will start our tour in Dover, learning about the role of Dover Castle and Dover Harbour during Operation Dynamo and the Battle of Britain in 1940. Dover Harbour was also part of Operation Fortitude during D-Day preparations. Whilst driving through Folkestone on the way to the Battle of Britain Museum, I will tell you how important it was during WW1 and WW2. After visiting the Museum in Hawkinge, we will go to the Battle of Britain Memorial where we will also visit the Scramble Experience. You will see how incredibly intense a day of a pilot was in the summer- autumn of 1940. Following this visit we will head to picturesque St Margaret's Bay nestled between the White Cliffs to the east of Dover. Besides its natural beauty, you will also see the remaining evidence of military action in the area. We will then enjoy a cream tea in a cosy tearoom. The tour will end at the pick-up location. You may also add a visit to Dover Castle and its tunnels. Just contact me and I will customise this tour for you.

For groups of up to 7 people, you will be chauffeured by me in a top of the range Mercedes-Benz V Class. With its excellent all-round visibility, panoramic glass roof and easy-access electric rear doors, this is one of the most comfortable touring vehicles in its class. The vehicle is equipped with a special speaker system, so that everyone can hear my commentary and the answers to any questions as we drive along. If you are in a group larger than 7 people, please contact me for a customised tour.
